Is anyone else worried about the fact we eat 3 or sometimes 4 times as much as other people?
I worry about possible side effects of eating so much food, drinking the juice of 10 oranges, a bunch of grapes, apples and a mango for breakfast. Eating a whole bag of apples or an entire cake through the day.

What are the possible side effects of thhe way we eat for our sports?

Yeah I get a s**t tonne of sugar from fruits in my diet. Always been more of a fruit kind of person than vegetable. Combine that with me gritting my teeth in my sleep and I reckon I'll be gummsy early in life :/
I sometimes eat a lot of fat also.

One of the side effects of eating 3 times more than a normal person and doing weights is you get 3 times bigger and stronger than the normal person Grin keep it up I say.

There is so many ways you can meet your demise, in terms of health alone. If you are not getting fat and you dont have loads of diabetes in the family its probably not worth worrying about.

If you are worried then skipping fruit juice and having whole fruits instead maybe a worthwhile step.

Over the past couple of months, I've been eating a LOT of cholesterol rich food - a whole 200g chorizo in a couple of minutes, a 200g cheese in one sitting etc. Had my cholesterol levels done today - Total was very good (mainly from having such a high LDL level), HDLs were very low and LDLs were sky high (great stuff).

As long as it's balanced then you should be ok. I have lots of oats and chickpeas, so plenty fibre, along with fruit and veg. We just eat more OF everything.

I remember seeing one of those TV shows about "freaky eaters". There was this woman who ate enormous amounts of cheese, would just chomp through massive blocks and little else. She was plump but not really fat.

Everyone else on the programme came up with terrible blood results and a array of diet related health problems. But her health and blood was found to be excellent.

I don't think that the lighter strength athlete (say under 100kg) needs to eat much more than the average active person.

In fact, I think most over-eat unnecessarily.

lol

I bet you don't consume much more than 3000 kcals a day though. That's only 500kcals or so more than the average person would consume.

I find it funny when 80kg guys tell me they need to be consuming 4000-5000 kcals a day to fuel their workouts.
