It was an easy 300 triple he did lol And all his back squats were done with a 2 second pause at the bottom PMSL!!!

Gone and easily forgotten....... Member 331, 22298 posts SQ 185, BP 100, DL 230515.0 kgs @ 85kgs UnEq | Two things. In russian texts I have read, weightlifting is "heavy athletics" and track/field athletics are "light athletics", but together they are referred to as athletics. And the other thing, its 1,000,000 members of weightlifting federation, that will not mean only people training at the top level, competing internationally, at full time training schools. Maybe it is more like the amount of lifters registered with BWLA or the IPF, and how many of them qualify and get sent to the international competitions, the numbers will add up on the national level.

No - it will be than that, but won't be many (particularly if you exclude non active life members) Actually I have no idea what number of weightlifters there are - if you believe Sport England figures in 07/08 there were over 118,000 people taking part in weightlifting at least once a week (down to 77,600 in 09/10)! http://www.sportengland.org/research/sport_facts/sport_facts_2... I guess it's all down to how you define things.
