If anybody ever needs help with anything I am more than willing as well. As I would like to put on comps in the future.

Most of the events/weights/distances for these quals have been standardized as much as possible.

Yes i'm gutted about JC not qualifying , i even sponsor the guy BUT people must be carefull not to make things unfair ..

Please let know one be under any false pretences, I would NOT do Englands under any circumstances (unless Millsy, Cleggy and Robbo died in a tragic accident and in respect for my fallen brothers I did it Grin)

I have had my chance to qualify, and its gone, simple as

16 qualifiers & Woods IMO, it should not be any other way!

Fair play JC, I can see where you are coming from with that, I am the same - if I don't qualify Sunday then thats it... I will go to to the finals to help Craig and/or support the lads that made it there.

The structure I growing and gaing pace all the time!! People dont see what is happening behind the scenes like getting invites to Ireland and Internationals

I thought with standardizing events in qualifiers we was getting somewhere

Agree with jc.

Everyone has had their chance. Some solid athletes will qualify from the midland and the Englands will have a very impressive line up.

I agree that weights should be approximately the same from one qualifier to another, but what concerns me about strongman (from an outsider's perspective) is that it is becoming too standardized.

So long as there's an overhead, a lift, a load, a drag etc, isn't the whole point of being a strong man that you turn-up and turn your hand to whatever the events are? You're only competing against whoever else turns up on the day. If the events end-up being the same, on the same equipment then athletes no longer have to have that element of adaptability, which, for me, has always separated strongman, as a strength sport, from weightlifting or powerlifting.

mate, this is how it will be. People will talk, people will make suggestions, people will criticise and dissect everything - especially if there is no transparency or direct ways to make propositions or change things and people are left guessing whats going on.

Better get used to it mate Grin

but seriously, its GOOD that people talk and comment - it shows they care, and there are some gems in there always.

people discuss, have ideas, disagree/agree because they care about the sport and want to help move it on. thats better than no-one giving a toss surely? having these discussions is helping things move forward imo.

So the entire Midlands contingent would get an invite!

Doesn't work for me. Brits and uks are seperate comps and shouldn't be fed from the same qualifiers. Limits peoples oppertunitys to compete.

I would imagine the standard stuff being done at qualifiers, and at the national comp they put their hand to it, so some people aren't shortchanged because of where they live with regards to their strong/weak events.

Finals are always varied and madness, so there you go.

I dont want to bore people with this because I keep saying it BUT......

If you have 2 national comps, for me they should be diffrent. as the Opens were. One for lighter more speed realted stuff, the other very heavy and static

Dont see the point in having EXACTLY the same comps, diferent names, which in essence they would be
