I think the stroke rate was 32ish. What’s the best way to improve from there? Higher sr or more power per stroke?

40 spm is a pretty standard SR for 500m. Try 35+ and see how it goes.

Cool, I’ll try that out. 40 seems crazy to me. Something to aim for!

You'll probably need to shorten your stroke a bit, but it usually pays off.

Thanks guys. the main driver is 1m mtrs in 2021 so a few distance pbs along the way is a bonus. I'll be chucking in some faster reps in future too to break it all up a little.

Hardware question. In the first stages of the occasional hardish pull I get a loud clicking (from the rower, not me) and I can feel something give a little bit. Nothing major, and doesn't stop me. Is this a common thing and is it time to look at a chain/ sprocket change?

I first became aware of high SR after seeing Shane Jerman do a 500 in excess of 50spm, I thought it was bonkers .......until I tried it and took 2 seconds off my pb.

You should be capable of low 1.20's with some training.

Thanks, 182 which was todays max on the model C. Maybe next time I should try the D with a little more drag.
