Today I wanted to find out where I am so I can plan. However I had a total lack of any hype. Everything was done with a very Meh attitude (not sure if that's good or bad). Anyway, if I had some care in me I'm sure I could have put up another 10kg at least. this is still a good starting place. Bench Press 60kg x 5 reps 80kg x 5 reps 100kg x 3 reps 120kg x 1 rep 140kg x 1 rep 100kg x 5 reps 100kg x 5 reps --I think I'll stick with this weight next week and do a 5x5. | ||

Cheers mate, I'm a bit rusty but better than expected. Shoulders and triceps have been screaming at me. I think this shows I'll get carry over to my overhead stuff. I have a very swollen knee at the moment. Nothing sinister, I've been bitten by some sort of midge and had a bad reaction. It's effecting how my knee tracks so don't want to rock the boat. If it carry's on focus on upper body lifts but I've had a few extra days recovery to see how what happens. | ||

It was nothing serious just nasty and tight. All good now though. Band Rows --Changed the band to a hard one. I got the bloody short straw and had to do every round of the summary drill instead of alternates like everybody else. Still smashed it though and that's what counts. Band Rows x 25 reps x 25 reps x 25 reps Band Face Pulls x 25 reps x 25 reps Band Triceps Pulldowns x 25 reps x 25 reps x 25 reps Neck Nods 10kg x 50 reps EZ Curls 40kg x 10 reps 40kg x 10 reps 40kg x 10 reps SSB Squats 60kg x 5 reps 90kg x 5 reps 110kg x 5 reps 110kg x 5 reps --Only a small increment and I'm glad for that. I could feel the bar trying to pitch me forward and I had to fight it hard. Abs are toast. This also smokes my quads like nothing else. Trap Bar Deadlift 85kg x 3 reps 135kg x 3 reps 175kg x 3 reps 215kg x 1 rep --Reverse Bands on 355kg x 4 reps -- Misloaded PB! I thought I had put 345 on but after using my calculator I can see the mistake. Damn I like it when stuff like this happens, bad maths FTW. | ||

Meh, life goes on. Weight is down a little more. I've now lost a full stone. Tipped the scale at 16st 5lb this morning which is 103.9kg. I need to be lighter for grading but I worried strength would suffer... Love this lift. Trap Bar Deadlift 85kg x 3 reps 135kg x 3 reps 175kg x 3 reps 215kg x 1 rep 255kg x 1 rep 295kg x 1 rep --Reverse Bands On 405kg x 1 rep --PB by 20kg. Bizarrely this felt easier than 385kg, I think there's a bit more in that tank. I was worried my grip would give out but it held true, in fact it felt very solid. | ||

Cheers mate, the plan now is to get some reps at very high weight. I'll also adjust the band tension so they do less. Ideally I want the bar free from the bands at the top #goals. I tend to get stale on dead very quickly so when i notice this happening I'll switch to a different version. The variety should keep things fresh and avoid burn out. TBH, I didn't really intend to lean out. I was eating like a fat pieces of s**t so I decided to cut out obvious junk. Things like grains irritate me so I stopped eating those. I then replace the load food with rice. That's it. The problem is I can't eat the same amount of calories in rice as I could in junk and thus I started losing weight. I'm still quite soft around the middle but I'm ok with that. The big bonus, I don't have to actively cut weight fro my grading, I already did it by accident | ||

The goal was not fat loss though, I'm just trying to make healthier choices. With recent event its forced me to take stock of this sort of thing. I do feel a lot better in general, sort of more alive. That's worth it by itself. I'm sticking bench back in, it's a nice break and I've taken all pressure off myself in terms of weight. I'm happy to hit reps at a reasonable percentage of 1rm. I'm taking 140kg as my max for now so ideally I need to be working with 120kg. | ||

The 405 earlier in the week has left it's mark. Not a tweak, just generally "worked". A2 Dips x 5 reps x 5 reps x 5 reps --Added s band for some additional resistance. This was pretty awesome. I couldn't really feel it but clearly I had to do some more work on each rep. Goal is 5 sets of 15. this will build slowly over the next few weeks | ||

A2 Squat 70kg x 3 reps 120kg x 3 reps 160kg x 3 reps 200kg x 1 rep --Not happy with these. Hips feel very tight and depth just wasn't there. Front Foot Elevated Split Squat bar x 20 reps (Each Leg) --Major quad burn. These feel great fro stretching out my hips and ankles. I need to add these to my warm up. I'll give them a good run and see how my squat reacts. | ||

I went to a beer festival on Friday and spent a good 12 hours on my feet. As an office boy I'm not used to that sort of thing. Tbh though if I can add in some sort of squat or lunge variant that warms me up and helps build flexibility then I'd be daft not to do it. | ||
