He landed 111 punches, basically in 6 rounds, in his pro boxing debut, against possibly the best boxer of all time, who's known for almost never getting hit. Did Floyd just decide to use his face to block or something? Conor did amazing

AKA the great reset Member 4056, 5207 posts | He should stick to boxing then. Far more money and he wouldn't have ufc to pay. I would like to Conor vs GGG.

I don't rate him. The most interesting stat is, Floyd landed over 50% power punches and stopped him. Easy win

Member 2775, 6927 posts | You don't carry someone by getting hit 111 times. Floyd landed 50% of power punches because he threw them when conor was extremely tired.

He walked forward. Floyd treated it like sparrin. Carried him to give the public money worth. Easy win.

If Mayweather had used the same game plan he used at the weekend against Pacquiao, Pac would have knocked him out without breaking a sweat. If Mayweather was intimidated by McGregors power, McGregor wouldn’t have landed nearly as many punches. Mayweather was under pressure to get a KO and changed his normal fight plan dramatically to get one. He hadn’t knocked anyone out in 10 years (not counting controversial sucker punches) and is 40 coming off a two year retirement. Imagine what a knockout artist like GGG would do to McGregor. Somebody knows boxing and understands Floyds game plan. GGG would murder him.

AKA the great reset Member 4056, 5207 posts | If Floyd fights his usual style, hit and not be hit back? Then he coasts to his easiest points win ever. However fans blast him for being boring and running. He goes out looking for a knock out and does what he has to do, to get the knock out. Fans say 'Conor lands more than Manny'. He can't win. McGregor did land a few fore paltry punches than Manny. But how many power punches did Floyd hit Manny with? It's embarrassing to think Conor can beat Floyd.

No amount of evidence will change this, easiest thing is just to smile at them and move on.Edit. The alternative would be for Conor fans to accept their man knew he didnt have a chance and essentially took a £100m dive. And they really dont seem to like that idea.

I'm a Conor fan (in mma), but he has a weird fanatic fan base. I don't even think they are mma, or boxing fans. These people think he can walk on water.

#biggef Member 5263, 3492 posts SQ 260, BP 195, DL 260715.0 kgs @ 130kgs UnEq | Interesting fight and they both made a ton off cash which was the objective, thought mcgregor made a decent account of himself in the first 3-4 rounds I feel Mayweather let mcgregor punch himself out a bit and went on the offence which isn't really his style and finished it,a few thing surprised me though one was that mcgregor was trying to get back position om Mayweather and useing hammer fist I'd have thought he would have honed his skills better but overall impressed with mcgregor and completely unsurprised with the outcome,

It was a farce of slappy, pish punches to make McGregor look like he could box and to make his fans believe he did well. Could have been wrapped up much sooner, but no one would have liked that....
