I don't see any problem with the story. It is just a news story following the inquest into his cause of death and the toxicology results. When you're famous these things are of interest to the public.. Years of steroid abuse were obviously a factor in his untimely death so nothing new. I don't understand why people are so outraged by it.

I'm angry because the coroner called a press conference for the results to promote himself for a reality tv series he has been working on since last year. The author for the article linked on the first page had known Mike is not as bad as the other local paper articles.

Trying to tarnish mikes good name for publicity is very low. Trouble is because of people's attitude toward steroid use many of the general public will now focus on that rather than (as was shown when he first died) things like raising money for a woman with cancer and all the good he did.
I was disgusted when I read it as all it does is hurt his friends and family. I didn't go down the route of posting on Facebook how wrong I thought it was cause I didn't wanna draw more attention to it.
His cause of death was an enlarged heart and many athletes that have never taken steroids have this so there was no need to mention it apart from to get more hits on their website and as Craig posted the guy to get some publicity

As a Biology Graduate (and the Drs on here etc will back me up on this too, no doubt) Any athlete will have in increase in heart size, known as hypertrophy of the heart. In simple terms, As the body requires more blood pumped round the body (for oxygen, ATP etc), the heart will naturally increase in size based on this stimuli. The heart is designed to do this naturally, and if workload (exercise) ceases, then the heart size will return to normal. Eventually however, workload will exceed the mass the heart can increase too, which in short, leads to heart failure and likely, death.
I think the whole steroids good/bad is bulls**t and outdated (and untimely when there is a grieving family at the centre of this). Personally I'd say smoking/drinking and doing weed is far more dangerous and costly to society on a whole, yet any sports supplements, even down to shakes/creatines etc are seen as a HUGE Negative/cheating etc.
The problem isn't what steroids do to the user, the problem is hugely uneducated members of the public who don't train, sit at home, smoke 20 a day and drink 20 units a week, who in turn, easily cost Health services globally far more than a handful or steroid users!!!

Bulls**t . People are not only those who use steroids and those who drink and smoke. There are a lot of people who want to live a healthy life . Healthy life does not include steroid and suplement use .
Athletes can achieve great things without using them .

That's not what i said. I meant it as a general overstatement, much in the way the general public would say steroids are bad.

Is this MC as I remember you posting with the same troll handle on MT?

If people want more exposure for strength sports, and the better prize money etc. it's going to bring then it's going to unfortunately come with more scrutiny. Rightly or wrongly the public love it when they find out some dirt on a famous figure, regardless of whether that person is is a good guy or not. People are just vultures looking to take down the famous to their level I guess.

Wouldnt you take in account that he had that virus that was picked up in China? It was totally kicking his ass and doctors couldnt work out what was the cause of it. He was also training with this virus which would have caused some extra strain on the heart/body. Specialist always say its not best to train even when you have the flu. Unfortunatley drug use is the first thing that comes to mind and no one is very sensible about making the call.
