its also about a variety of comps , not all comps should be the same and Dave should be applauded for that . Heavy squat , max deadlift , heavy log press , heavy stones, heavy dumbell and a truck pull couldnt be much better visually in my opinion but i appreciate peoples views differ and some people just like crossfit

Aye mate...each to there own
A medley of for example 150KG farmers x 20m, then load 3 125KG sandbags from 3-4m isn't crossfit though
As folk have said, I'd imagine you'd fare very well at this comp

Just wanted to put that I've ran the qualifiers the past 5 years with events that I have either done in Belfast or were in the UK final that year. Belfast is infamously heavy, with Glen loving brutal static events. As a result the past 4 UK champions have all been static beasts (Glen,Terry, Jimmy and Ed)
I have always argued the qualifiers should represent the final. Sure there are lads who can move like lightning with decent weight and have tremendous strength endurance. However, and I'm sure all those that have been to the 3 day UK final will agree, that the faster, more athletic lads fall by the wayside and the static boys progress.
If you look at finalists from the uks past along with the winners you have lads like, Spencer Hyland, Brian Irwin, Dale Norris, Paul "man bear" Carter, Rob Frampton, Mark Westerby, Lloyd Renalds and Chris Gearing. None of these lads are ever going to win a sprint completion yet have had tremendous success in the heaviest, most brutal comp (in my opinion) this county has.
Eddy is getting bigger and stronger each year and the only way we will get lads to challenge him is to make the qualifiers produce lads that can push the big man in the final.
Hope you can all see the method in my madness!!

True words mate, its a very heavy comp and if you look at last years final some of the guys found the events too heavy. You keep up the good work Mr D Meer

Was a good day today all!!
Had WSM athletes Eddy Hall and Alex Curletto as guest athletes and Jay Pateman, Luke Fullbrook, Wayne Smith and Karl Allcock competing.
Unfortunately due to a lot of illness and injurys in the mids this year we had a massive number of lads withdraw (myself included)
So could have just been a formality to qualify but pride and a fighting spirit took over and the lads all bust a gut to be top dog.
Over all Ed came first and Alex second but between the lads actually competing today it was
Jay
Luke
Wayne
Karl
I''ll ask Paul to post full results and points later but was a good day with no injurys!!
Hope those that came to watch enjoyed it!!
Big thanks to all my crew including Paul, Sharon, Kerry, Laura, Andy, Ben, Dick, Mikey and big Grey Plimbley
