I just realised having two belts, harness, climbing shoes was kinda over the top especially when the Deadlift/Squat Suits had not even been used more than twice!! I started my S&C role the monday morning after my last comp in June and have been mental busy ever since, it really got tough when I spent most of my time in the Gym and can't lift myself!! Sure the job has bunch of perks, working with top level rugby athletes + a number of internationals but it is alot of work! Especially as I'm with two teams !! We squat a lot!! There is a large element of Oly Lifting involved also! But as much as we love to do the cool stuff and shift big loads, most of the season is geared towards inury prevention and keeping the players tip top for the weekend. Pre-Season is where we have out most fun!! Up to Four sessions a day, x2 Weights + Speed and Conditioning. I've made my mark enough to run strongman conditioning sessions from time to time, kinda mixes things up a bit!! Prowler Push/Pull, Tyre Flips, Keg Carries, Farmers... You get the idea. Now i'm at 105/6kg and focused on training for Wales' 105's in March! The fact I have a something to train for and my work load has reduced slightly may even allow me to head to IW,Swindon soon !! | ||
