Nearly 30 years on I still vividly remember 3 things from that trip - Morgan - lifting Dave Hancock - first time I'd ever seen him. One scary fella. Jason - Den Welch's great Dane which was considerably bigger than me at the time The Empire was a boiling pot for lifting for decades and very much the place to be. Shame that venues gone. Lot of history there, and memories for lifters. | ||

I was stood in reception as that monster of a dog opened the door itself and came in and started to eat the sandwiches whilst we all stood and watched - I don't think anyone dared to stop it.
