It's 4hrs from mine, but hopefully Danton might put me up if I ask nicely.

Hopefully my knee and should would have recovered by then, and I can get my lifts back up to what they were.

What sort of weight would the guys in the "U80kg"
Catagory be lifting anyway?

In 'what sort' of lifts?

I reckon most could curl about 60kg.

Max log Should be one (I think) 240k yoke and no heavier as it`s a speed event,

I think the u80 guys should be looked after abit more than the other weight class`s, so even tho they maybe strong as hell pound for pound doing Max on most events over six events should be dumbed down abit for someone weighing sub 80k.

There is not much demand for u80k comps, and being to heavy will only put of new lightweight strongmen and I think it will benefit more in the long run if it got heavier over time.

I also think it should be used as a stepping stone to u90k as well.

This is what im thinking anyway,

What I mean is....

Deadlift for reps- what kind of weight would be expected for an u80 guy to pull?
Log for reps- same question?

The only reason I'm asking is- most novice u90 comps I been to it seems that
Deadlift is two times body weight and log lift around 80kg.

Just wondered if a u80's comp would be any different?

i would guesse if deadlift is for reps it would be about 200-220kg.

Log for reps about 90 - 105kg

agreed

imperium the weights used in a deadlift event FOR THE MASS'S should be around 190-200 no more on a standard bar

yoke like dave says 240

farmers 100kg -110 ish

log for reps 80-90

lets not forget that we base alot of our little understanding of u80 comps on the only 2 weve had advertised on here ants and BSM u80 both were a stupid high standard and the winners were ste baker and shane both very good u90 men aswell

@ bsm u80 cleggy lowered the farmers weight due to competitors thinking it was 2 heavy i personally think a 270 yoke was 2 heavy but both comps struggled with competitors due to insane poundages being advertised yes its good to get the best guys lifting the heaviest weights but imo lower the weight and make it more accessible to more ppl the best would still win f**k me shane could have put 10kg on every event and still one with a perfect score @BSM

im not fussed either way if bsm u80 goes ahead next year il be gunning for top spot whatever the events or weights iv got a score to settle with that Flash fella Grin

Sorry IMPERIUM, I miss read what you was asking,

As V man says, There has only ever been two u80k comps so we dont know what weight`s should be. Two times bodyweight for reps sounds abit light (160k) for BSM U80k, but if it was a qualifier for bsm then that sounds about right. The more people doing the u80k comps the better,

And a qualifier for bsm u80k would show that it is moving forward. So there is no answer really, All you can do is look up strong as an ant thread and bsm u80 and see what the event`s weight`s were, and go of that.
