very nice and positive way to put it actually, thanks Grin

Did the highland games team comp yesterday again, neat Czech border somewhere, awesome setting, mountains, forest and a river in the background, next to old ruins, picturesque little village that was transformed into a medieval village.

Tougher comp this time, weird events cost us points and a more experienced team won. They deserved it though. in the strength events, they were not heavy enough to for us to show our strength.

I really want to do an individual comp in the B class soon! Though they will all be throwing events in those comps, but i love that stuff anyway. Only problem is the technique, i have none Grin

Events were:

farmers - 60kg per hand, this time hook gripped it so the 200m for max points was no problem and could have done few more laps too if needed.
hay bag for height - fluked the maximum points in this one, last week was struggling but somehow it "clicked" today.
stones - easy, the heaviest stone was 100kg natural one, which was easy to grip to without tacky.
piggy bag carry - one of the team sits on a log, rest carry him around a slalom course. Funny but hey, we are not fast Happy
weight for height - f**k, forgot the technique this week and was swinging it too much instead of snatch style close to body! 8/10 points Unhappy
caber toss - practised this in the morning and few times before, and didnt get it, it was a bigger caber than last week. But then the official attempts started and nailed it in one, love the caber toss Happy
hammer on chain - hard technically to put power into it, did one straight run throw to get at least some points, 6/10, then tried to do the spin, got some half hearted double spin going and tossed it almost out of angle but got 8/10 points, last attempt the same. Would be a nice event if i would hack the spin right!
stone put - nice 7kg natural stone to throw, got the glide right from the start and max points.
archery - WTF! achery! As awesome archery is, none of us knew nothing about it, second last place Grin
log slalom - bitter from the mess we made with this last week we gave it some thought and got it ok on the second run.

Officially a fan of highland games Happy they are not heavy enough that I would need to rest for them so its just a nice day out, but the events i did + million practise runs on most of the things made it a demanding day, a really nice workout actually.

Also they have their funding sorted so they are free to enter, and you get free drinks and food too. And get to wear a kilt.
Avatarchaos
Awesome stuff Joni!!! I'd love to a have a do at highland games, plus I look cool in a kilt!Grin
AvatarJC
Lol @ archery...WTF exactly Wink

Sounds good mate, you seem to be having lots of fun out there

Oh, and you missed a cracker Sunday...you would have loved watching BSM u105...AWESOME events

jc, even more enjoable would have been to actually do it, looks f**king ACE!
