Looking good on the stones bud, might need to re-think this head to head and add in some of your weaker events. Tongue

Thanks man. You should know by now I have no weak events though... (apart from farmers... and deadlift... and medleys... and chain drag... Grin)

Tonight, as per The (very slightly revised) Plan...

Axle press
5x65
2x75
2x5x80 - all solid. 3rd set was in there, but knee giving grief. Plan is after this Plan to only do seated/strict pressing for a while. 2 5's at 80 is still ok tho, 5's at 85 next week will be tough, but if they go 100+ will be IN THE BAG.

Front squats
5x60
2x5x95 - no snappiness tonight, but reps were not in doubt.

Zercher squats
2x5x100 - tough, but largely due to ther pressure these seem to put on the diaphram. wonder if there's any way to avoid this. If not, might just take it back down to 90's next week, seemed to not be an issue on the lighter weights.

Pull ups
2x4

Playing with the wraps a wee bit, but only used them on one set of squats last week. Think I will introduce them slowly tho, just feels weird to wrap them, though the reps did feel easier which is nice Happy

Couple days rest and a solid session tonight;

Squats
6x60 - didn't feel that light Confused bad sign
3x90
1x120 - heavy off the rack, but squat is fine
2x5x130 - solid, almost easy. nice. will take it to 135 next week, though i'm tempted to go to 140. have to reign it in tho - the Plan says no to 140.

Bench
8x60
5x80
6x95 - supposed to be 5's, but got carried away! easy as well, 8 or more in there i'd say
2x9x95 - easy - 5's at 100 next week will be nailed

Deadlift
5x110
1x140
2x5x160 - smooth. no doubt.
1x160 - tried it double overhand (without hook) just to see, and it was easy, should have pulled all reps like this really, just didn't want to take the chance on the main sets. 5's at 170 next week - IN THE BAG.

That'll do it. Really happy with the session, and The Plan so far.

Hey Brian, have you tried using an axle to do the Zerchers? I find that its easier to hold and then takes pressure off my mid-section, plus my hands dont go numb for days after doing them with the bar pressing on the nerves or something similar in the forearms. Grin

Aye Ken, I've always used the axle for the zerchers. Really like them, but was just when I went that wee bit heavier that I really felt it crushing my diaphram or something. Get the same with sandbag carry and similar events too - not sure if it's technique, or a dodgy body part Happy Axle is comfy enough on the arms like you say tho, wouldn't fancy a normal bar digging in tho! I used to do them with a normal bar and it was agony going for anything over 100kg, think I might start using them for assistance when Im not training legs with Andy at the DAWC over summer.

Aye, they've got to be good for s**t like stones, and stuff like sandbag where it needs brought from knees to chest/upper abs. Hip strength i guess, and that's one thing I definitely lack. Will hopefully help with front and back squats too.

You really should have had that second rep Bri!! Next time!

Good session, 5 with 80 should defo equal 95kg when you max. Training has been looking really solid recently - keep it up!
