Have you ever had Doms from rowing?

Mine is more of a general fatigue of the whole leg, if you know what I mean.

Really going to try to throttle back a touch on UT2.

Strong 10s there Paul.

I get DOMs from rowing. My traps and gluts are fudged from yesterday's HM. Resting HR has been a little elevated today too.

Cheers Jonathan, I'm a touch fatigued at the moment but I was reasonably happy with them.

I briefly got Doms when I changed tekkers but I don't usually, what I get sounds similar to you jt, just a general tiredness of the legs. It's usually my leg stamina that holds me back as well, it did on my 5k, my HR didn't even go over 160 on that Roll-Eyes

Felt like crap today, the youngest has has some type of 24hr sickness and it felt like I might have a touch of it. Anyway, once I got going everything went pretty well, I still felt like crap, but the pace was decent enough and the HR was good, a struggle, but glad I did it.

You are a machine. The ultimate, consistent athlete!

Your UT1 splits are all now below 1:50 and your AT sessions a super-consistent too.

I look at you as a model of how to train rowing properly.

I knew today was going to be tough, legs are starting with reasonably bad Doms from squats and were just generally feeling it. Anyway, started out not too bad, but I could feel I was having to put in more effort than usual for the same pace, it all caught up with me a bit half way through the second and then again the third set where I had to drop the pace to keep the HR down. I'm expecting the same tomorrow then hopefully recovered by Wednesday Roll-Eyes

Perfect example right here of the said consistency - I posted that message last night at (quickly checks the 'Review Thread' sparrow/me button) 17:11 and you've already knocked out two top sessions since then.

What do you do for a living? (I'm sure you've mentioned this before.)

Bad Doms again and this went about how I was expecting. Kept a similar pace to normal but the HR elevated faster in both sets and by the 4th split on the second set I had to ease off as the HR was climbing. Like a total knob I put my foot down just a touch for the last minute to duck under 1:45 average raising HR over AT a fair bit, felt reasonably stuffed by the end as well. I don't like squat Doms when rowing, I'm going to try and avoid them in the future.

50 rep squats do not sound fun at any weight.

20 reps use dot be enough back in the day.

No wonder you have Doms!!!

I would like to do a small amount of strength training to supplement the rowing, but even when I do light reppy stuff I see a dip in rowing performance for a couple of days after. I'm not sure the benefit outweighs the downside.
