Pretty sure this is deep enough for PL comp standard, in terms of general squatting is this a good depth?
The reason I ask is because with or without weight this is as deep as I can squat.

Looks good to me, why can't you squat deeper though...?

Flexibility I guess, but at the bottom it literally feels like my hamstrings are on my calves and there's nowhere else to go?

Very very borderline! I'm glad I'm not in a refs chair because these kind of decisions would seriously stress me out...

Same as me. My hammies hit my calves and I cant go deeper no matter what. Wider stance does help me slightly.

Improve your flexibility pal, it can only help.

Oh, I agree. It wasn't meant as a comment on your post (which I hadn't seen yet).

Oh, good!

Anyway, there's room for more depth, flexibility is stopping you, not physical barriers. If you wanted to play a game of powerlifting there's "tricks" to be more "legal" without squatting any deeper as well. You have a lot of knee travel, which personally I'm all for! But it can make powerlifting legal squats a bit tricky for the larger gentleman, despite still being quite a deep squat in terms of range of motion.

Guess being overweight doesn't help?
What can I do to improve depth as I physically (through flexibility) can't go lower?
Just to add, although I spoke of PL depth, my main goal it to increase overall leg strength and development for strongman as opposed to just getting a big PL squat. Basically I don't want to squat wide with as low a range if motion as poss. I want to squat for best development of strength...if that makes sense?

ive found that the bigger my legs have grown the worse my depth looks, the smaller your quads are the better the knee:hip angle looks, the femur could be at quite a deep angle but the huge amount of mass around it can make it look not so deep, you take a guy like ray williams hes going as deep as he can but its just never going to look that deep because his legs are so f**king big

However you can still probably get deeper with more mobility work, kelly starretts becoming a supple leopard is well worth the money

I don't want to overstep any boundaries but...the only thing I noticed was that it looks as if your foot is rolling in a very tiny bit when you hit the hole. It might have just been an off rep though but maybe pushing your knees out a little bit further might kill two birds with one stone.

If you want any stretches I highly recommend the couch stretch and glute stretch with one leg on a sofa (like the "pigeon pose").

More shizzle here: http://www.allthingsgym.com/mobility101/ + http://exrx.net/Lists/Directory.html < uber directory.

Like this but against a low bench with your knee on the floor:

Kind of like this but perpendicular (keep your lumbar tight if you want a good stretch).

Looked good to me, though not much to spare. More mobility definitely the way to go though.
