Im able to upgrade my contract on 14th Sept and looking at new handsets. Right now its either the Blackberry Storm or the Nokia N97 32GB.

Im torn between them cause the Nokia has a 5MP camera whilst the Blackberry is only 3.2MP; Nokia has alot more internal memory, but I can get a MicroSD card for cheap to boost the Blackberry memory plus I wont be using it as a music player; just for internet, texts, calls etc and the Blackberry seems to have alot more features like the above than the Nokia.

Whats peoples experiences with these two phones?

i had a blackberry very briefly and found it hard to use. if anything the menu system is had to use, well for me it was.

i'd opted for the Nokia.

I've got a Blackberry Bold and love it. I know 2-3 people who got a Storm, none of them were that impressed - some have switched already.

Really I think the Storm is a poor man's alternative to an iPhone - it's not a "real" Blackbery.

Haven't seen the new Nokia, heard an assistant raving about it in a phone shop though - "iPhone killer" apparently?!?

If you're not going to email that much, I would try the Nokia.

I have the N97, it was buggy as hell when I first got it but that all seems to be ironed out now. I have owned an iPhone in the past and found the N97 hard to get used to (it's just not as smooth as the iPhone's UI).

Overall i'm happy with the phone, It doesn't work too well as a touch screen device though (it seems more of an "add on" to help raise sales figures to be honest). physical qwerty keyboard is really good though and makes replying to e-mails a doddle.

P.s. Had a storm for 4 days, hated it. The "click in" touch screen is a crappy gimmick.

Funny, I was just on the phone with T-mobile to check if I was due for an upgrade. I've got the Curve 8310. Got offered a £10/month discount on my contract if I stuck with my current phone and have the oportunity to upgrade when I wish and they will just take the £10 discount/month off.

I like the Curve, but that N97 looks really nice, especially as it's got a solid QWRTY keyboard. Question is if it's compatible with the blackberry internet sevice, which I love for my emails.

Thanks for that Smalls....

Yeah, Bold is a very solid phone mate. I have an N97, but it's buggy as hell, not worth the hassle.

Massive naive statement from Carl there. It may have been your birthday recently, doesn't give you the right to talk nonsense. However, I am a fan of the iPhone UI, I have an apple touch myself, very nice to use. Pretty much everyone and their dog has an iPhone now though.
