Good plan testing the events today. I'm sat in front of the box watching Avatar!!!

I'm also supposed to be setting a new PB on deadlift on Monday. Might not be the best idea!!Grin

Are you resting up til comp day now? I'll do Monday then a really light sesh on Wednesday to blow off the cobwebs.

Cheers matey. The straps felt pretty good today. Last time I did the deadlifts I just went flat out from the start with 190kg so this time I paced myself more, could of got a fair few more but I didn't want to do the full 75 seconds. On the overhead medley I just did 4 reps twice at a fast pace, felt good and had plenty left in the tank both times.

Cheers. I was pacing myself, but it was still tough as pulling from height isn't a good event for me.

You should be chucked out the comp for admitting to be watching Avatar Tongue

I'm going to train most of the week but I won't be going heavy on anything. If I pulled a max deadlift on monday I'd maybe recover by April Wink

Looking strong mate, which comp is it your doing?
fctilidie
Cheers. I'm doing Champions Of The Future 2 at OSG next Sunday.

Awesome session mate. I think the deadlift in the comp is going to be very close!

Just over a week to go.
fctilidie
Cheers. It will be close no doubt, I think a lot of events will be. But there will no doubt be a couple of big guys that run away with it a bit. I'm looking forward to it, should be fun.

Squat
1 x 5 @ 60kg
1 x 3 @ 80kg
1 x 3 @ 100kg
1 x 3 @ 120kg
1 x 3 @ 140kg
3 x 1 @ 160kg

Bad idea to train tonight, but I had it in my head that I shouldn't skip squatting. I've been swimming with my nephews this afternoon, and obviously I had a big session yesterday so I don't know what I expected really. 160 felt heavy tonight so I did 3 singles with it and called it a day. Easy week now before the comp.

Great work last few sessions mate

Seems like that was still a good squat session mate. Don't beat yourself up over it, just get your recovery in order and make sure your heads in the right place. My nerves are all over the place before a comp, I try and use that to give me an edge. This is the worst bit now, waiting and recovering.

I won't beat myself up about it matey, I know it was just a silly mistake to try and squat the day after the strongman session. I'm not usually 100% by the time I do military press on a monday so I don't know why I thought I'd be fine to train on a sunday.
