Sure he did 280-odd for reps but it was high rack pull so f**k knows what that translates to off floor.

Paul Coopers 300kg at 74kg is impressive, Tom Martins is just world class, bearing in mind Tom is probably the best deadlifter the world has ever seen. he will be taking Coans 409kg record soon no doubt

I can see Tom pulling over 900 in the 110kg class. Wouldn't surprise me in the slightest.

Well touch and go adds 120kg to your 1rm... but given the circumstances we should let it slide.

I honestly think I can rep better, with a pause at the bottom. I never really gave touch and go much practice.

I used to use the touch and go tactic a lot on dance floors back when I was on the town hunting for minge.

Deadlift wise, I'm a dead stop guy.

My training partner has pulled 280 @82.5 (maybe a little heavier lol) at 23.

I didn't realise how good that is. Sometimes you forget in the modern day

I trained with someone who pulled 320@88 and 335@92 a few years ago. He since moved up to the 125 class and has failed to beat his old numbers.

I think this is relatively common. Increased bodyweight and strength do not always lead to a bigger deadlift, especially with the shorter lifter as they get heavier

I pulled 280kg and got pretty damn close with 290kg.

I wouldn't say I was ever close to a 300kg pull.

He is tall and built like a stick insect at 90kg.

I am far from a great puller but I pull better fat. And I'm short.

I also deadlift more heavier and am far from tall - I suspect it's more noticeable in equipped powerlifting. Certainly at World Champs it is not at all uncommon for the 93kg lifters to be out deadlifting the SHWs - perhaps the short, fatties get a lot more out of squat suits and bench shirts so deadlift is not as critical?

I only ever competed raw so can't comment on kit. I bench and squat loads more fat. Loads. More difference than on the pull.
