As an example, an elite lifter on this very site made the transition to untested competition in the last year or so and has added about 30kg to his max pull i believe. Is a 370 drug free better than a juice plus 400? Of course a juice free 370 is better than 400, if both are similar body weight.

Member 3705, 28 posts | The problem with knowing 10 guys in your area who pull 300, they might be the only 10 guys or a large proportion and if its a lifting gym, not that surprising. I don't think you can scale it up and say London, with 10% of the countries population and a certain amount bigger than smaller city, is going to have, lets say 200, 300kg+ pullers if we assume there are 2,000 total.

AKA the great reset Member 4056, 5206 posts | Post Edited: 09.04.2016 @ 18:57 PM by AdamT It's just my opinion. Both lifts are seriously impressive, but a 370 natural pull to powerlifting standards is insane. Not that 400 juiced isn't. Of course it's elite.

Member 1255, 806 posts SQ 220, BP 135, DL 260615.0 kgs @ 85kgs UnEq | The Isle of Man has a population of 85,000, which is about 1/750th of the UK. I'm fairly sure we have zero 300kg pullers. One guy has done 290kg.

Member 1589, 1219 posts SQ 300, BP 260, DL 345905.0 kgs @ 108kgs Eq | 300kg is decent but a 105-120 lifter should probably be doing it after 5 or so years of training these days. In the gym I train at there are 3 who can do 300 out of a town of around 50000. there are probably 20-30 (maybe more in Edinburgh?). extrapolate that there are around 2000-4000 in the UK. how fecking accurate that is I dont know

Member 2202, 346 posts SQ 282.5, BP 220, DL 320.5823.0 kgs @ 120kgs UnEq | I think that suits, hitching, straps, baby oil and so on makes it seem like 300kgs is more common than it really is. But also thats probably the IPF c**t in me thats talking. I wonder how many true drug free 800lb deadlifters there are in the world. Cant be more than 10.

nothing to hide, please follow my life on webcam Member 255, 3732 posts | There were just 10 300kg+ deadlifts at the GBPF Vlassic and 5 at the GBPF unequipped this year. This suggests to me that a 300kg+ pull, from a tested lifter at least, is fairly uncommon.

Lost his pen, then found his pen. #phew Member 4899, 2956 posts | I think we all accept that a 300kg pull from a tested lifter in competition is fairly uncommon. That wasn't the question, though.

That wasn't the question, though. I don't believe there are that many untested lifters (there are certainly very few competing), so the number of tested ones who can do it surely is a big factor? If it's not a competition lift, whether powerlifting or strongman, surely it's a bit meaningless. A bit like saying how many sub 10.4 100m runners are there and claiming all the footballers & rugby players could do it.
