I did a loooong time ago, but even though it was long ago I remember it well enough to know that it wasn't quite as they describe it on their website: http://www.kestrelbeer.com/kestrel-super.asp

Can't be worse than a lot of that Belgian beer like Gulden Drakk and Delirium Tremens. They just have better marketing lol.

A lot of the local punks here had buckfast "Brewed by Monks, Drunk by Punks" tattoos. Few bands even did songs.

Tried Kestrel once, had a few sessions with Super Tennants in the past which is much about the same idea.

Never ended well.

Indeed it never ends well.

Special Brew is another 'premium' lager with a slightly misleading advertising campaign. I think they call it the beer of the gods. More like Devilbrew.

Yep, gold label beats the lot! Although, isn't it classed as barley wine as opposed to a beer? 1/2 can was enough to make me slightly merry as a 16-yr old! Still probably coudn't drink a full can now! Grin

Eurgh... Headache material!

It's a Barley Wine isn't it; hence their sales spiel: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Barley_wine

I do not believe that I ever actually managed to finish a can...even though it was only thimble size.
