I'm sat in Almost Famous waiting for burger, fries, and wings.

Breakfast was 4 eggs, garlic sausage, and a slice of bread.
2 hours later I was at my friend's coffee shop, which has an adjoining bakery. 400g loaf of bread with butter as soon as the bread came out of the oven.
2 hours after that, I'm tucking into freshly shot partridge with macaroni, tomatoes, onions, and grated halloumi.

I might have 250g baby biscuits (think Farley's rusks) with a coffee poured over later on.

You're living the dream, Funkster.

My favourite burger is a very difficult question. So much depends on my mood.

In terms of national chains, I think GBK are very, very good indeed, and cover all the bases from sensible to medium-dirty. They also do the mountain of hygiene paperwork necessary to serve a pink burger on request, almost uniquely now.

Honest Burgers are up there too.

I enjoy 5 Guys, but their fries are usually crap.

For a good simple serious burger, Hawksmoor are predictably great.

For a dirty 2016-hip experience, I love Famous (though they were even better when they could serve medium rare), and have enjoyed Meatliquor the couple of times I've been.

I really want to try Bleeker, but it's a long way to London.

The absolute best burgers I know, though, come from a Manchester street food outfit called What's Your Beef. They are simple but perfect, with ridiculous depth of flavour.

My burger views and opinions have grown with me in life, and my experience has been completely blown away in the last 5 years as I became more educated, travelled, experienced and immersed in the world of food.

As a child, I was only really aware of burgers at home coked by my mum, and burgers cooked on family BBQ's. Of course, the only other burgers on my radar were Wimpy, McDonalds, and my childhood favorite of Burger King. I add in white van man burgers too, but they're a separate kind of filth.

I think until my late 20's, I held Burger king as my benchmark from all of the above. The whopper for me was head and shoulders above all of the previous mentioned brands, and I'd still have it as my number 1 now from all of those chains too. I actually had a whopper 2 weeks ago today, and enjoyed it tremendously... Whopper Wednesday where the app allows you to have one for £1, so I indulged and also ordered a double whopper with cheese too, before consuming both.

I must say, even with my current palate and opinions, I enjoyed the standard whopper more than the double, which is something I never thought I'd say once upon a time. The balance of flavours and textures was more in tune.

However, in the last few years, as I've grown in stature and experienced more, I obviously discovered GBK and I have always rated them highly. They offer a great selection of burgers, and I've never had a bad one. Very good chain indeed!

A few other notable ones I've experienced several times to review their menus and setups are Honest Burger, 7 Bone and 5 guys, who have all left me feeling a little meh... I expected a great deal from 7 Bone, but they just left me feeling very underwhelmed. 5 Guys did a nice burger, and I would eat them more of they was closer, but none of the 3 mentioned here are above GBK in my mind.

My burger world was blown wide apart at the seems however, when I had a burger from "The Beefy Boys" at Grillstock festival in 2016.

That burger for me still has not been topped by any other restaurant, or street food burger. I intend to visit them at Hereford when I next make my way to Wales. Yet I also hope that I'm not then left disappointed and ruining my memory of the best burger I ever had.

I've never had the Hawksmoor burger, but it's on my list of places, along with Bleeker, BlackLock, and well, I have a huge list of food places in my head to visit still.

I've never cooked and sold my own burger creation to the public, only to private events, but I've always had superb feedback, but having watched the burger scholar sessions on YouTube recently, I'm keen to get setup again once I've moved and trial some burger creations.

Entirely with you on all that. I go to BK about once a month, and the whopper is a good thing. I like McDs for what they are, but they're SANDWICHES, not BURGERS, as far as I'm concerned.

I can't get past McDonalds overriding taste... For me, their burgers all have this kind of manufactured taste that lurks in my mouth and mind.

I followed you on IG earlier too, as I setup a dedicated and impartial food account haha.

Hahaha I’m saying nothing.

Tonight’s dinner was my mother’s homemade meatballs and sauce with spaghetti.

A very filling dish, which was washed down with a rather weak lemon muffin, which I drowned in golden syrup to give it some oomph, and then 3 snickers.

200g or so of pasta
1 pinchyboi (crab)
Onions, garlic, tomatoes, oregano
Ton of olive oil

Damn chickens haven't been laying enough lately, so no egg to make a sorta carbonara.

Oh, and a grapefruit. Gonna go steal a load of them from my uncle's garden tomorrow.

Weighed out 300g pasta
1 tin tuna in oil
1 raw egg - I weighed it too. 93g. Jumbo eggs are 63g. Not sure why but my friend gets eggs MUCH larger than normal. We have the same breed and use the same feed.
Pasta sauce
about 10 black olives

1,469kcals not including olives and pasta sauce (dry packet, add water, cook etc.)
225g carbs
86g protein
25g fats?

Simultaneously feeling proud and appalled of myself.

89 year old gran cooked lentil rice last night, and there was some of that left over. Liver and onions tonight. I just mixed them all in a pot.
