Quality video, I love watching freaks like that - amazing build (built to squat and bench!!) and great technique, good deep squats. Those figures at that age are pretty damn amazing.

I think we often forget how far ahead places like Russia are - their s**t lifters would be considered excellent ones over here. I'm sure juicing is far, far more prevalent but you still have to take your hats off to them - they train like bas***ds and are strong as hell for it.

The only thing with these young lifters who come on the scene with such big lifts is that they sometimes appear to not make much more progress - i.e. Beni Magnusson on the deadlift.

Beni has switched to strongman comps hasn't he? as i have seen him in a couple of the super series from last year and heard he was training for the iceland strongest man comp before injury.

and as for the lad in the vid holly crap the pauses on the bench something, and his descent on the squat is fast but he is a very powerful young man. will be interesting to see if he make gains and impact on the like of bolton, sider ect

...tempted to go for a front squat PB tonight, but lets see how i feel when i start the warm ups...

yeah 150 is 75% of 200 so i hope to be getting a 200 either before the shetland comp or a couple of weeks after it. then its back to the back squats for a 9 week cycle so i can get a 250 or 260

100kgx2 is pretty good mate, thats what you pwcleaned a couple of weeks ago. How would you rate your form on those?
You should be able to clean 120kg+ right now, more with a better technique. Good for you!

i reaaly didn't like the movement for hang cleans think i'll just stick to power cleans but i recon i would be good for a 130+ just now

thanks guys, erm to answer the thing ( haha that sounds weird), I used to do the mixed grip when I first started, but was always messing my back up until I tried the double overhand thing and it seems to work for me, and truth be told, after many months of d/o grip, I decided to try out the mixed grip for fun one day, and fecked my back up again on a 170kg warm-up, needless to say that I have never been tempted to try mixed grip again!!

well it works for you bud, the only time i use double overhand is on cleans and strapped deadlift

good stuff and with double overhand grip! do you use the alternate grip at all?
