I thought it was really well run too Bryn, warmup area was bullit.

Just wish id seen this thread earlier as I would have told Jas to get his arse to the 9am weigh in instead of getting a phone call off Jim at 9.30 telling him he'd missed it and having to go to ASDA to eat a mega brekfast to get him in the 100's.

The fiend bombed anyway Roll-Eyes

I dunno if it were tennis elbow Ed maybe squash elbow cos ive played that, but i had sore elbows from squatting and benching and our lass is a physio.

She said high rep low weight dumbell curls with exaggerated slow eccentric. Works a bit of the forearm that stabilises the joint or something like that.

Do 'em once weekly now and never had elbow pain since. Happy days.Happy

used f6 in the end 46 instead of fury 48 really glad. Thanks to mr.burgess p/l warrior, jas and all the power press crew for there help and a great comp.

Marc you lifted well mate best ive seen you lift, smashing little comp wasnt it? It is Aaran the legend and maybe the best PL coach int country that is the PL warrior though no one else works so hard and so effectively running the platform, loading, picking attempts etc.

Well that is very unfair mate. You should point out that you are also awesome at dumping bars and falling over Wink Grin

Hi Steve

When I compete I get someone else to wrap my knees and I use a set that is too thick to put on yourself and I have them mega tight, and yes I get loads out of them. The tightness makes a big difference, but it takes atime to get used to having them on very tight but you just need to keep trying. After lifting I have scars on my legs for weeks afterwards, like friction burns.

Joe, how many revs round the knee do you get with a comp wrap? and do you use those wrap roller machine-thingies to roll them up tightly?

ta
I use a wrap roller everytime to get them really tight before I put them on, I can get upto 10-12 times around my knee especailly is someone else is putting them on

Joe can you tell us where you got your wrap roller from? There is a nice one ont Metal site but it is about £200! We had a bullit one but Jas has lost it.

ok cool! What would a conditioning cycle look like?

Its generally structured like a prep cycle with less volume and lower %'ages...aimed at gettin you used to doing &rt;1 competition movement per session (you can end up doing up to 4, i.e. sq twice and bench twice) without the massive strain that jumping into it cold would be.

that's right up there in my thoughts my friend, just need the right motivation in place to see it through with a 100%, top speed, full fury attitude

If you decide to go down that road Rory give me a jangle i have quite a bit of experience with Sheiko (have been training that way for best part of a year), and a lot of spreadsheets!

cheers mate, I'm definitely gonna do it, just dunno when yet!

Squat

60x2x5 / 100x3 / 140x1 / 160x1 / 180x1

Deadlift

100x5 / 140x3 / 180x1 / 210x1 / 230xF, 1

Yeah cool. Well it is something you'll have to be careful with looking at the amount of volume you usually train with...your work capacity probably wont be up to the volume at first. If you jump straight into a prep cycle you will probably go backwards at first but there are some 'bridging cycles' and 'conditioning cycles'.

West Mids Powerlifting Championships

Saturday the 6th Of December

Power Press Gym, Cleveland Street, Dudley

For an entry form....f**k knows, im not the organiser or anything, just the guy from the gym who's the biggest cyber web geek!

Probably if you email me i can get one though. It should be a cracking comp, we have some legendary lifters in the West Mids and the new Power Press gym is s**thot, with a quality platform and bars. We would make all lifters welcome.
