Now I'm back to regular deadlifting I'm finding my lower back is tight, which it hasn't been for a good while. Foam rolling doesn't seem to get to this area. Not sure if my old cheap roller isn't up to the job, or whether its best to use a tennis ball or something? What do you guys do for lower back tightness? Ta

Edit: thinking of getting a new foam roller anyway. Any suggestions? One of the rumble type rollers maybe?

Knee hugs to chest(both and singular), rollbacks, hip flexxor up on a chair, hamstrings and a homedics back massager daily.

Sorry, rollvacks are basically where you're on your hands aand knees and sit your bum back onto your feet and put your head down onto the floor kinda like a muslim prayer position. A couple of sets of five reps really helped me. stretches where you rotate your spine should help too where you lay on your back, lift your leg up and rotate your hips as to try and get your knee close to the floor. Best of luck man. After my back injury it tightened up like hell. Iknow how uncomfy it is.

Cheers chaps. Good to know some new stretches, as well as a few I've tried before. Back is no where near as bad as it was a few years ago. Just want to keep on top of it now. This stuff will help. Ta

I just do a few standing twists to make it 'crack' and it instantly feels miles better.

You could achieve the same stretch with a bit of rope or a towel or something.
