PAGAN said:Just an observation but that seems considerably lighter than last years comp.

Which was too heavy for half the field and put new commers off participating

It was good to put it out there for people to try and then make conclusions afterwards though

With this lighter set up (if it is so) will still see the best man win so it's a win win comp

Yes, after discussion with the likes of Paul Wood & Mark Clegg I decided that we had got a little ahead of ourselves with the weights at qualifiers and were putting off newcomers to the 105s. So with that in mind I have aimed to present a set of events that although perhaps a little lighter are still true to the term "strongman", will be visually exciting for the crowd and participants and will also ensure the strongest guys finish at the top.

I think as mentioned these are good events as it makes the comp realistic to a newbie like myself, but the best guys are still gonna win.
Good job Ben

It's not for lack of effort and negative perspective... After my solid effort on wood's giant farmers he said maybe it was too heavy but I said we would do our best regardless of the challenge ahead

Although I was lay on the floor at the time I couldn't but agree with what he was saying and the reasons behind it

There is a very considerate and caring feel to the comp organizers that is becoming even more focused as time goes by, especially for the regional grass roots qualifiers

Plus some people listen to JC too
