I tried it for the first time at the bodypower show for abit of fun.
27 reps at 85kg, reckon i could of hit 30+ fresh but my triceps were f**ked from shoulders the day before.

1 or 2.what a s**t lift off, 3 man lift off for 85kg lol what a joke.

The 3 man lift off was just for saftey reasons. It was crap on my behalf too, the bench was realy short and the width of the rack wasnt even big enough to hold the bar right.

Me, not as many as I should. I've got a weird strength curve. I go from easy rep to start to work rep to fail, I guess because I train for maximal lifts rather than strength endurance. Maybe a better test for strength (as opposed to endurance) guys would be reps with 150% bodyweight? Sorry Neil!! On the original question, not tried for a while but I think I did 18 with 100 2 or 3 years ago.

i did this challenge last year i THINK i came 3rd overall over the course of the weekend with 37, i would like to see what i could get with a couple of weeks training for it and decent food on the day and a warm up. no video proof i'm afraid tho. i think i might have a video somewhere of 100kg for 25 reps tho, thats the lightest i usually go in training.

Mike, if you genuinely bench 180 raw at 79 Kg, you're 7.5 Kg better than the GBPF British senior record standard in the 83 Kg class! http://www.englishpowerlifting.co.uk/GBPFrecords/mensunequippe...
Do you compete?
JC26/05/11 @ 13:26
Imo guys around the 100kg mark should be able to do 20+ reps at that bodyweight
BW to strength ratio means f**k all IMO....we wouldnt admire Z & Shaw etc so much if it did

x2. that's pretty ridiculous at 80kg bodyweight. isn't that better than rob palmer's record.

Yep, and d'ya know how embarrassing that is? Spotters hardly seem to know what to do with it.
