So, back to the old stroke for now at least. It's more efficient for me on the UT1, this was a similar HR / difficulty to the UT1 I've been doing recently, but a couple of seconds / 500m faster. I'm juggling training with teaching the kids / working etc at the moment so am a little short on time, no WU and a short CD.

With those super UT1 paces I would 100% be sticking with the BIm original tekkers?

I am guessing you are working from home?

Yes, I think I've given the 'correct' tekkers enough time (or as much time as I can be bothered with), and it just doesn't suit me. Pace is slower and it's super uncomfortable once I'm under a bit of pressure.

I am working from home, same as normal for me mostly, just the kids are at home working as well so I spend a chunk of time helping them out. I quite enjoy it, but it's sometimes hard to find 45 minutes or so to train.

The last studio I built was for a lady who used to work at home in her kitchen, unmolested then BOOM 2 teenagers and her husband also working from home in "her space"

Unmolested?? I should hope so.

Great UT1 session Bim. Looks like the old technique is more efficient, so you’d be daft not to use it.

Doing the flatter pace on these makes them more bearable although I'm not particularly looking forward to the 2x10 min AT on Saturday.

Low heartrate for the pace. Looks almost comfortable on paper! Grin

Super AT pace, the 2x10 will be good prep for your 17.15 5kGrin

Will you be doing a 2k test in week 7?

Might be low HR for you, 155 is approaching balls out for me Grin

I had been trying to forget about that Tongue I did briefly consider replacing the 2x10 with a 5k, but now you mention it it will be good prep. I think I should do the 5k in the next week or so off the back of all the UT1 and 2 work.

I still feel traumatised from the last 2k! I wasn't planning on testing, I guess I might do a fastish one, see how it goes.

You could do the 5k as your test and do the 2k in week 14.

I might just do that.

Friday 08/01/20

Row - 3x15 min UT1, 500m CD

Time Meters Pace Watts Cal/Hr S/M HR
45:00.0 12,248m 1:50.2 261 1199 23 149
15:00.0 4,119m 1:49.2 268 1223 23 147

Time Meters Pace Watts Cal/Hr S/M HR
2:16.7 514m 2:12.9 149 812 22 126

Sped up a touch at the end of the second set to duck under 1:50 pace so a slightly high HR. Session felt decent enough.

Excellent pace for such a low heart rate. Were those finals or averages?

Yep. Very good indeed. Inspired me to put 45 minutes into the PM5 tonight too, but I didn't quite get that far.

Like Millsy says, very low heart rate. I'm routinely 20bpm higher for a similar pace.
