Its a long time in the saddle to remain focused i see 90minutes and think 2x45 3x30 or HM

Yeah, I think I agree jt, it just makes for a more enjoyable row if nothing else. Splitting sets down in your head is a good way to get through the longer / harder stuff, although 2x45 sounds almost as bad Grin! I'm definitely handling the longer distances better now though, they just don't feel as long most of the time now.

Reasonable hangover and not much sleep last night so I need a plan for today! It's meant to be 3x20 min UT1 which I'll try to spread out over the day. The first one was surprisingly ok, my body seemed to be working reasonably well, I just felt like crap while doing it, tried to keep a flat pace and not push too much. Next one planned for just before tea Tongue

Training with a hangover seems to suit you, Have you gone that far before with such a low HR?

I was expecting it to be higher. A couple of weeks ago I kept just under 1:50 pace for a 20 minute UT1 split and before I started this new program I've held just over 1:48 for 30 minutes UT1.

Rest of the day

I was feeling a lot more normal by the time I did these. Did the 20 minutes just before tea and the two 10 minutes just after tea as I was running the bath and then while the kids were getting a bath Grin So a pretty broken up day, but got the m's in.

Exactly the same overall pace as the 90 minutes a couple of days ago. Felt a little tired going into it but good session overall. A little uncomfortable towards the end, but again, not too bad.

After such a great year knocking chunks of 10 seconds off 2k at a time reality will be a second here a second there I should think.

Looking forward to some AT on Tuesday?

Yes, I agree with that jt, I think it will take some tine to duck under 6:20.

I've been playing with the idea of repeating this three week block as I think it would benefit me, but I'll probably stick with the program. As for the AT, I'm looking forward to some faster stuff, it almost feels like I've forgotten what it's like! I think it will be crunch time for the new tekkers. When I tried to hold a decent pace with it before the start of the new program it just became very uncomfortable once my breathing became heavy, I would end up switching back, hopefully I'm more used to it now and can hold it properly.

Sunday 03/01/20

Morning run
20 min UT2 - I go out with my lad on a Sunday morning, if he wasn't wanting to go I would have scrapped this, felt like crap.

Row - 25 min UT1, 5684m UT1, 1k CD

Time Meters Pace Watts Cal/Hr S/M HR
25:00.0 6,705m 1:51.8 250 1160 22 142
5:00.0 1,314m 1:54.1 235 1109 22 133
10:00.0 1,335m 1:52.3 247 1149 22 140
15:00.0 1,345m 1:51.5 252 1168 22 144
20:00.0 1,352m 1:50.9 256 1182 22 148
25:00.0 1,360m 1:50.2 261 1197 22 149

Felt exhausted when I started, took some time for me to get into it. I was meant to do x2 but couldn't face the other one straight away so took a break and came back to it. Checked the meters for the week and I was 5684 off 130,000m so I just set the second UT1 for 5684m, although I overshot the CD by 2m. Average pace was 1:53.8

Weekly total 131,002m Eek I was feeling great a couple of days ago, but it feels like it all caught up with me a bit today.

Nice session, with it being only 2 I tried it Blast Into Max(BIM) method today but did not like it.

your 131k trumped me by just under 4K.

Would you really want to do those 3 weeks again so soon?

Crazy meterage!

I love it that even though you felt terrible, you still went for a run and did your SBD with the kids. Grin How old are they?

If I'd have felt a little more energetic I would have done the same today, it's funny how 2x15 seems like a short session now!

While the last three weeks have been tough I have enjoyed the drop in pace and the longer rows. I also feel like my UT2 would improve a fair bit if I gave it more time, anyway, I'm going to carry on to week 4 and see how it goes.

Cheers Sparrow! Daughter is 8 and my son is 9, one of the reasons I train is so I can do this stuff with them Grin Now we are going back into full lockdown I think we are going to be doing circuit training every evening again Roll-Eyes

Morning

Row - 1k WU, 2x6 min AT 3r

Time Meters Pace Watts Cal/Hr S/M HR
3:52.9 1,014m 1:54.8 231 1095 23 129

Time Meters Pace Watts Cal/Hr S/M HR
6:00.0 1,770m 1:41.6 333 1445 27 146
2:00.0 595m 1:40.8 341 1474 26 142
4:00.0 585m 1:42.5 324 1416 28 147
6:00.0 590m 1:41.6 333 1445 28 151

Time Meters Pace Watts Cal/Hr S/M HR
6:00.0 1,747m 1:43.0 320 1401 28 151
2:00.0 583m 1:42.9 321 1405 27 146
4:00.0 581m 1:43.2 318 1393 28 153
6:00.0 583m 1:42.9 321 1405 28 155

Touch pushed for time so a shorter warm up and no cool down on the rower, just went out with the kids for half an hour walk after. Kept up the new stroke for about the first half of the first set Roll-Eyes, once it started to get hard I couldn't keep it going. For some reason it is just very hard on the breathing and I can't catch my breath properly when I'm doing it. I guess that is the end of the new tekkers which is a shame as it feels much better doing it that way, until the going gets tough. Reasonably happy with the pace, kept the times flatter than I usually would do but they were both hard sets.
