I've updated the post Sparrow, it was 2 minute intervals. I've never done any higher S/R work, fastest I've every been was 1 min flat out which was 38 S/M I think, usually I don't get over 30 though. I'm sure it's not the best way, but the resistance was about 155.

I'm just uploading a video now with the session on, you can have a laugh and tell me where I'm going wrong Grin might be a while though, upload is going slow.

The least amount of strokes to achieve your desired speed the better I think.

Reckon thats why all the long legged boys do so well.

Cheers Sparrow, it's a set I don't look forward to, but feel great once I've done it! I'm 46 (I think!).

Initially I was going to do a fast 5k tonight, but I've had a couple of bad nights sleep and felt like crap for most of the day. Instead I decided to see how long I could keep 1:45 pace going for, turns out it was for 3k, after which I couldn't face it and had a steady 1k before doing the last 1k at a decent pace.

That’s a very decent 5k. Is the goal 17:30 then (1:45 pace) for 5k?

It is Sparrow, I think it's a few months hard training away, so maybe an end of year attempt.

Felt a touch under the weather again today, set off rowing with the intention of doing a steady 5k, proving again I have very little self control when it comes to the C2 Roll-Eyes still, felt better for it.

Is two stroke breathing standard on the harder rows?

3k at that pace is still excellent work as is today’s 10k.

Regarding breathing, I find it quite natural and do not really take any notice until I can't do it anymore Happy

Do you have a scientific plan?

When I'm rowing hard I switch to two breaths per stroke, I find it pretty natural like that but I've seen people suggest that it can throw your stroke off and you should be just doing one breath per stroke. I come from a swimming background originally where stroke rate per breath is a big thing, I guess that's the reason it caught my attention, just wondered if Team Boar payed any attention to it.

Think I paced it not too bad although I probably set out just a touch fast. Last 500m was as expected, dreadful but just managed to hold on. 6:30 for Xmas!
