Just read through some of his old posts, can see why he don't come here or any other strongman as the abuse they get is discusting. He pretty much made the sport the most popular it's been in years, next year's wsm will not be as exciting without him

Is it that much of a stretch though to believe Ed Hall has benched that weight? It's not as though he's just your run of the mill static monster is it. He's a super beast on the static lifts.
If he says he's benched 290 I believe him. Why would he lie?

290kg? Hall would be close to the all time WR if he gave it a go.
he did 265kg x 6 properly paused - not a massive amount of effort either and without the
30 second contortionist bulls**t that IG 'powerlifters' insist on doing nowadays.
he just lies down, flat back and presses the bar, james henderson style.
the only things i've ever seen comparable is Sarychev (280 x 5) and Spoto (272.5 x 6 T+G)
the two all time best benchers in history.
