The time on Zwift when you pass through the finish is a couple of seconds faster than the Strava segment. Mine was 26min 52s

A bit more effort this lunch - more of a challenge for you. I even briefly got the climbing jersey!

Reverse side of the mountain Epic climb (steep side) - 21:14 (21:12 on hidden Strava segment) - average power 280watts,

Followed by an hour of steady practice in and of of aero position - total 90mins at 239watts average.

super stuff, I cant put in the volume that you do , I could find the time but I don't think I could recover fast enough from the sessions , I'm sure this will change over the coming months , its certainly a great motivator for me.

would you say the 'other way' up the mountain is harder ?

It's a bit steeper, so a couple of minutes shorter.

The recovery will come. Just keep at it and remember you can't go hard all the time. You need plenty of long, easy work. You're already more than fast enough to do under 12hrs at Bolton. You just need to be able to keep going

How do you get to the steeper side?

I wish there was a climb that took an hour or more. That might be enough to get me to sign up over the winter. As it is I've got 2 months free.

the only way to go up the other way (I presume) is to use the directional arrows when turns appear and find your way (along with a U turn)

have a look at steves ride on strava, he did it this morning

I guess you could 'ride with' someone who is at the bottom of the climb and then do your own thing

If you can select route the Mountain 8 course takes you up the hill from the far side all the way to the very top (I turned to skip the last section up to the Mast.) Otherwise rather than taking the first turn on the left through the tunnel take the second turn on the left.

The longest climb there is to the top of the mountain (Watopia Mountain Climb on Strava) took me just over 41 min to do last time I did it.

there is/was some discussion on FB about a carbon bike on a turbo - should i put the cannon on the kickr and use the ribble 'out n about' ??

even if its just the sweat getting in all the CRANNIES , i don't wanna risk anything.

also learned today (again on FB) that lance Armstrong has a podcast - so i will have a listen tomorrow.

had to ditch the zwiftcast as the presenters voice is just too annoying.

There are some interesting things on the Zwift cast from time to time (I think the idea of offering a pro contact based around Zwift training is very interesting) but your right his voice makes it almost unlistenable.

Just passed 10,000 miles on the Boardman over the last two years. Almost all of them have been done on the turbo.

Mid-way through Millar's "The Racer" and I'm absolutely loving it. The story around his maglia rosa made me cry in a public place.

I mean this in the nicest possible way Steve, but bloody hell, that many miles on the turbo is grim. I admire the fact that you can do it and know that you're limited in terms of roads, but I couldn't do it and would have thrown my turbo through a window long before that.
Happy
