have you not got a parkrun near you crack-Ed ?
AvatarEDCLARKE
yes mate loads of them ,unfortunately they dont work for me they're all on saturdays and dont start till 9am , the wife works saturdays she leaves at 8.30am and after that Ive got the kids . Plus if I'm running the dogs are coming to and i'm killing 2 birds with 1 stone.
AvatarBoar
I take our dog out for a run too ...like you say ....2 birds ..... it gets me brownie points with the wife !!!

I have only done 2 parkruns but would probably do more if I didn't work Saturdays , mrs.boar doesn't workRoll-Eyes
AvatarEDCLARKE
lol Mrs Clarke took 14 years to go back to workRoll-Eyes

tonight the program said max singles so I did:

reverse band squat 140kx1 160kx1 170kx1 180kx1
reverse band bench press 120kx1 130kx1 140kx1 150kxfail 145kx1
power cleans 60kx5 70kx2 80kx1 85kx1 90kx1
pull ups body weight x10

ok so tonight I hung some weights off the band to work out what help I was getting:

squat was 35k off the bottom and 10k off the top
bench was 55k off the bottom and 35k off the top
I think there is also a stabilising effect from the bands which helps but i'm not sure how to quantify this, anyway it was fun and I enjoyed it so its all good.

yeah check me out!

tonight 1 hour of muay thai , easy tonight as there was a bloke without a partner so we formed a threesome ooer! which meant loads of rest , I usually have wednesdays off but I think I'l do something tomorrow to make up for the lack of tonight.

Do you find that training with the bands is carrying over to lifting with out much?

no idea at the moment I guess I'll find out , according to the program i'm following it will
I'm going to run the program for a couple more months till i test out what benefits I'll get.
AvatarEDCLARKE
practiced skipping tonight , i would say i skipped but i didn't not properly , I skipped and tripped in equal measure for about 20 minutes with no noticeable improvement . I'm sure I used to know how to skip but somehow I seem to have forgotten.

Also did 100 kicks with my left leg as I am a total spaz when it comes to kicking with my left.
AvatarBoar
I got some 'no label' adjustable skipping ropes off amazon , they are f**king ace !!!

also got some £4 pink ones from Tesco and they are pretty decent too

I think after I am done with boxing, I will enjoy continuing with bag work and skipping
AvatarEDCLARKE
£1.99 from Amazon for mine , I feel like I should enjoy skipping but I'm so s**te at it I don't.

1 hour of muay thai tonight working combinations , fun !

max out today on the program :

reverse band deadlift , 70kx5 100kx3 140kx2 150kx1 170kx1 185kx1 (misload) 200kx1

the 200k was so easy it got me wondering what i could lift without the bands , so I took them off and tried 200k without it , 200kx1 and not that hard either checked the weight 3 times as I couldn't quite believe it at first.

strict press ( no bands couldn't be bothered to set them up ) bar x10 40kx5 50kx2 60kx1 70kx1( right on the limit)

wow really pleased and surprised to have pulled 200k and so comfortably , looks like this program really does work.
Avatarbrocerslrd
