well mine was done doing overhead so not quite the same but no I couldnt raise it after. it did go back to normal after a couple of days though. I guess it depends if the dislocation itself caused any muscle or tendon damage. if it tore something on the way out you might have an issue.

This. I did mine in 2002, falling off my bike and putting my hand out to stop the impact. POP. It's taken my years to build u strength around it. It's now relatively safe but I've lost some range of motion. HOpe you fix up good dude!

Maybe your right! I have always had insurance and wouldn't use it when I got injured. I guess one day it may catch up with me. Are you sure that time may heal it. Are you in major pain?

sounds like you've torn your supraspinatus. it's a small muscle and easily damaged. it basically aids your deltoid in abduction (lateral raise). it's common to tear multiple rotator cuff muscles in shoulder injuries.

best rehab work i found was external rotation work with light weight, bands, face pulls (eventually) etc.. it took a while before i could do any abduction without pain. let it heal and do stuff that doesn't cause pain.

Think u are spot on pal there , I managed to bench 30 kg today for 10 shoulder press about 9 kg , face pulls caused pain , the chest press felt better and lateral movements above parallel caused pain and cracking , I have an ultrasound on the 5 th may .

fair do's. good luck with the rehab dude. just keep doing do more stuff that causes no pain and less stuff that causes pain! it's a long road, but injuries usually make you improve other lifts in the meantime and hopefully you'll be back stronger when you're healed up.

No mate only slight pain overhead and face pulls and bench , that's why I was surprised when the doctor told me , nurse kept saying don't move it if it hurts and I was like it doesn't hurt look I can move it .

In case you want a read, this is how things went for me for the first 6 weeks after the op with what sounds like the same injury:
Rotator cuff tear and recovery.

Within about 6 months I could train bench properly and within about a year I was close to my best.
