The government here in Ireland are talking about putting the calories in alcohol on the label.
Was a bit shocked to hear one small glass of white wine is equal to an iced donut. Beer worse than chips.
The interview said alcohol is becoming a large contributer to obesity.
I've Been trying to cut down on boozing outside of gigs and special occasions. Messes my training up.
So would calories on your pint glass put you off that extra pint and do many obstain to train harder?

I don't drink alcohol at all. I don't enjoy the taste at all so would only ever drink to get drunk. It writes me off for days and I can't function.

lol. Just because they say you can doesn't mean you should.

Back to the OP, I don't think it will make people any less prone to drink, and be drunk and fat. Calorie labels on fattening consumables is like putting down sleeping policemen to slow down traffic. The people that it is aimed at stopping don't care so take no notice. People have the right to be as unhealthy as they like anyway.

I do think a tiered NHS should be considered if it hasn't been already, but that's for another thread.

I was just quoting the article, seems a bit off since it's talking about powerlifting and yet isn't banned in the topic environment!

Good to know, curious to know what the results of doing this would be!

It is banned in some sports - mainly motor sports I think, but not powerlifting. I know of one former IPF World champ who would consume a bottle of wine over the course of her lifts!
