I'll also posit that he may not be a grinder - a lift will either go smoothly or not at all.

As others have said he is smashing records and taking medals. If you can do that with a few kg ib the bag even better.

He is coached by dietmar Wolfe there training methods are pretty secretive but from what I have read in translation is that they are focused slow consistent progress and I read somewhere they refer to competing with the brakes on so just holding back abit if that makes sense
Proof is in the pudding every time cyc he hits a pb and also breaks a world record factor in that they have the strictest test policy in the world they must be doing somthing right when it comes to programming and competing

Some of Norwegian women I have seen appeared like they had loads spare, yet an extra 2.5kg absolutely buried them. And I know Brian Siders commented how his lifts either looked easy or he failed them. It is possible, especially with modern kit, for a lift to look easy yet there be no more "in the tank"

He also banked a large cheque every time he broke a record, much better to break it by 1cm each time

Very mature display indeed pulled 332.5 to the top before grip went.

1000kg in the next couple of years.

Thanks JT
