Good lifting today, saw some great lifting

Opened at 70 snatch was easy, 75 I lost grip on the pull and fell backwards lol think messed up my head and missed 76. It was like somthing from a fails vid, shocking.
Opened 90 c&j Missed 95 on jerk on second lift but got it on 3rd.

I was hoping for a comfy 277 and if I was really on it go for 300 however my upper back is still dead from yorkshires so I didn't lift Tongue and just coached my mates, 2/4 went well and 1 guy bombed so not the best performance from my club but think it is mainly down to a. Confidence and b. Not simulating comp conditions enough so they should be fairly easy to fix as the guys are hitting big weights in training.

Big weights don't mean much to me I'd rather see somebody lift well and consistently if I had the choice

It bodes well in terms of future progression and injury prevention

Good lad on doing both the game of strongman and coaching the sport of weightlifting... At some point if you keep improving it would be good if you could get to the stage whereby you could compete at national level and sack off the strongman until you have achieved your sporting goals.

In any case I do hope everybody had a good day had this comp will be one of many for you...

Were you rushing yourself mate?

Well done on getting a total... 70 95 for 165 is a number I'm sure you will enjoy elevating

Thanks mate but I'm not sacking off strongman lol it's so much more fun than weightlifting!

I have no idea what happened. Grip seemed to go on right hand, noticed some blood on my thumb afterwards. Couldn't get my head straight for my last snatch attempt.
But with looking like a dick comes the experience and learning from it.

And yeah 165 will be smashed on my next competition that's for sure
