St Andrews Sportive, Fife
Something like 3500 feet of climbing. I'll definitely be a broken man when it's all over!
Have you ever ridden 50 miles before?
EDIT - map http://gb.mapometer.com/cycling/route_3104679.html

Gents you'll both be fine, get your bike in the right gears on the hills and eat and drink plenty and you'll be grand.
Burky - I'm sorry to hear about your response from Planet X, very poor from them. Have you ordered new wheels?

Cheers mate. No, have complained so I'm waiting to hear back. Spoke to the wheel builder I have been using and they said that repairing Planet X wheels is a nice income stream for them! Planet X so far has been f**king useless.
Looking forward to the sportive, looks like a good route, especially Swiss hill!

Sorry Burky, only just seen this.
I would love to support small British businesses like Planet X, but I dont have enough money to bank roll them. Plenty of good independent wheel builders out there and if I want something off the peg then plenty of good quality other affordable brands, Fulcrum, Mavic, Shimano etc.

I also just read that Cav will definitely not be doing the World's Road Race.
There really is zero chance of him winning so makes sense. Better to get another climber/classics rider in there.
I wonder if Edmondson stands a chance of making the squad. He's going well at the Yank race going on right now.

Edmondson is riding really well and he is a pure climber so maybe.

He had a decent day yesterday, and they would use him fairly early doors you would think, plus Froome knows him.
He's got a shot.

Wiggins going back to the track and now Cav? Should be good for the next Olympics but how will it affect their road racing?
I thought I heard that Wiggins was not going to do any more Grand Tours and instead concentrate on the Spring Classics but haven’t OPQS brought in a couple of lads to help out Cav?

If Wiggins does go down the Classics route do you think he will be competative considering Sky's poor showing in them this year?

Not for the Olympics. Or at least not according to Cycling News.
He's entered an event specifically to get track points.
