4 weeks ago, strained my hamstring while dead lifting, the paint went off but it pulled my lower back. The next time I went to squat I couldn't even warm up, 60kg was so painful.

Therefore I decided to not squat of hit lower back, now last week I went to squat and worked up to my weight I used before pain free how ever it felt sore afterwards. I never tried DL's just in case. As I'm typing this I can feel my lower back but it's in no real pain but I can tell it is there.

I know the lower back takes the longest to recover but, should I just take the week off or what or is this something more serious?

Stretch and ice it. Youll be fine

If you think it's very serious then get it checked out by a doctor to rule out anything catastrophic. If it's just a minor pull then...

This. Lots of stretching, lots of warm up sets. Before 60kg, do a bunch of stretching, bodyweight squats, the bar for 3 sets out so, 40kg for me sets etc. You'll be fine.

Past the initial few days, inactivity won't help it.

Foam roll and get a sports massage if you can.

From my experience jst rest is nt enough and either it wont go away or you wil stop feeling tightness but you will end up pulling something again

Bit of a different situation but been on holiday for 10 days, came back thinking I'd be fresh but in fact everything was tight and bits were painful. I should have kept moving and doing something!

Have you got full pain free rom with no weight ?

If not work on that 1st use an empty bar and do plenty of sldls atg squats and finish each session by hanging from something when you have the full pain free rom back start adding kgs
