AMG | Lower back pain | 26-05-2013 @ 19:52
Member 3970, 183 posts SQ 200, BP 130, DL 245575.0 kgs @ 78kgs UnEq | 4 weeks ago, strained my hamstring while dead lifting, the paint went off but it pulled my lower back. The next time I went to squat I couldn't even warm up, 60kg was so painful. Therefore I decided to not squat of hit lower back, now last week I went to squat and worked up to my weight I used before pain free how ever it felt sore afterwards. I never tried DL's just in case. As I'm typing this I can feel my lower back but it's in no real pain but I can tell it is there. I know the lower back takes the longest to recover but, should I just take the week off or what or is this something more serious?

Sports an extremely muscular arse. Member 38, 6253 posts | Post Edited: 27.05.2013 @ 08:53 AM by Fazc If you think it's very serious then get it checked out by a doctor to rule out anything catastrophic. If it's just a minor pull then... George_Winston said:Stretch and ice it. Youll be fine This. Lots of stretching, lots of warm up sets. Before 60kg, do a bunch of stretching, bodyweight squats, the bar for 3 sets out so, 40kg for me sets etc. You'll be fine. Past the initial few days, inactivity won't help it.

Member 4496, 1446 posts SQ 240, BP 200, DL 300740.0 kgs @ 112kgs UnEq | Foam roll and get a sports massage if you can. From my experience jst rest is nt enough and either it wont go away or you wil stop feeling tightness but you will end up pulling something again

to row or not to row ...that is the question Member 1963, 811 posts SQ 202.5, BP 140, DL 265607.5 kgs @ 90kgs UnEq | bigdave30 said: im not an expert mate, but i wouldnt take a week off, from my own experiences my back got worse, i call it 'lazy man syndrome' when i laze about my body is in bits!!! maybe a deload or light cardio is on the cards or like the boys have said, foam roll.... Bit of a different situation but been on holiday for 10 days, came back thinking I'd be fresh but in fact everything was tight and bits were painful. I should have kept moving and doing something!

If not work on that 1st use an empty bar and do plenty of sldls atg squats and finish each session by hanging from something when you have the full pain free rom back start adding kgs
