I've not worked since monday. Set of tuesday about 7.15am and there were vans, cars, lorries ect getting stuck and both the junctions of the M6 were I get on were shut so turned back. Turned in yesterday only to check on a couple of things but theres nothing anybody can do gardening wise in this.
Built a nice big snowman in the front garden with Jack and cleared the drive a couple of times but thats it!

I work for an housing association as a gardener on one of there housing estates so as you can imagine theres f**k all we can do in this. Spoke to my line manager and she warned me not to clear any pathways as these are owned by the local council and by attempting to clear these would make us liable!
I've asked if it would be possible to shop for some of our older residents but with money changing hands we'd have to be organised. She's going to run it past her manager and then get back to me.

Seems ridiculous that you would be liable even though you're doing them a favour! But I guess in this compensation crazed Britain I am less than surprised.
Good to see that you're making an extra effort though mate. Top stuff.

Ah i too have done my stint as a gardner in aberdeen. i have since vowed to put a astro turf lawn in my garden when i get a house.

You dont want the council counter suing you because someone broke a bone falling over on the pavements.

TBH i think more folk should help out the pensioners in weather like this. hope your manager lets you help them out

I had an interesting situ this morning. I was on the outside lane of a slip road, joining the M^, when suddenly there was no f**king outside line of a slip road, it was just a ft and half of snow

I couldnt come inside as there was a big f**king loorry, so had to plough through all of it at 50mph, breaking and skidding everywere. I eventually gound to a halt in the thick snow about a metre from the inside lane of the M6

I wiated for rescue for all of 2mins then decided to dig myslef out (luckily had a shovel in the boot). So there I was, a meter away from big f**k off lorries travelling at 70mph blaring their horns at me. After the longest 5 mins of my life, s**tting myself continually, I managed did the car out and avoid being killed Grin

Nightmare!
