SLAP tear Mike. It took a full 6 months to heal and has now left me with niggling scar tissue which is not an everyday problem but the benching motion "grinds". I should be starting radio treatment on the scar tissue this afternoon.
This year has pretty much been a write off but I'm hoping to come back stronger in 2013 where my target will be PB's at the British Masters Classic.

How did the injury occur ? did you feel it happen or did it just happen over time ? I felt my shoulder 'crunch' three weeks ago benching, it's been painful so I've brought my grip way in and am using weights that don't cause pain.

Mike, I refer you to the log excerpt from Novemeber 25th 2011.

Bench.
20 x 20
10 x 60
5 x 80
5 x 100
3 x 110
2 x 117.5
1 x 122.5
2 x 115 FAILED.
Bad news this, something pinged in my right shoulder as I lowered the first 115, the pain feeling like a needle being stuck into the bone! Today (Saturday) I cannot raise my right arm at all without the same pain. Not good just three weeks before my competition.
I'm taking ibrupofen and para's, any other suggestions other than rest?

If you feellike reading about the following weeks of pain feel fre to check out the following link from page 50.

Wednesday 31st October.

Just 8 lifters trying the weights tonight and that includes forklifts Grandson! Weighed in at 112.75Kg. Stressful work day today, including a train journey to London that was rammed with screaming brats. I hate half term, you always have to fight for a seat in McDonalds.

Squats.
10 x 20
5 x 70
5 x 110
3 x 140
2 x 155
1 x 170
1 x 185
2 x 160
3 x 150
5 x 135
Good session, the 185 came up sweet and fast.

Bench.
20 x 20
10 x 60
5 x 80
5 x 4 x 100
8 x 85
Done in around 40 mins, felt like a good workout.

Went to see the physio peeps for work on the shoulder, they only did evaluation though and they'll get on the job next Wednesday.

Nice work on the Squats looks like your getting them back slowly there is me thinking I was catching you up. DAMN! But looking good Finch.

Bench is strong, You need to try get some videos up mate, your weight seems fairly consistent what you aiming for 110 bodyweight or not?! You've gone up in weight slightly.

What is your calorie intake must be alot I eat a shed load and I am only about 90.9kg.

My weight is actually coming down!
I'd like to loose the belly but i'm not too worried about the actual weight.

Videos from "The Farm", me included.

Today, 8 cups of coffee, one bottle of apple juice (255 calories) and 375grams cooked chicken (approx 500 calories). Total for the day around 1200 calories, i'm just back from the poncy gym where I did 900 calories on the cross trainer, therefore i'm around 300 calories up for the day...

Monday 5th November.

No training on Friday, the wife took me away for the weekend (Nottingham), the hotel did have a gym but their free weights consisted of dumbells up to 25Kg and a flat bench, the guy in charge nearly had kittens when I picked up the 25's and came out with the classic line "Be carefull with those, do you know how heavy they are?"

It was fairly quiet at the Farm tonight, 9 lifters and 9 Rugby lads, two of the Rugby lads were on cloud 9, one having been selected for the England U18 squad and the other for Scotland. Weighed in at 113.0Kg, not bad after a heavy weekend of Magners and full English breakfasts.

Deadlifts.
2 x 5 x 70
5 x 120
3 x 140
3 x 160
3 x 180
3 x 200 just failed to lock out the third pull but it was very close!
3 x 190
3 x 180
3 x 170
5 x 150
Not dissapointed with this sesion.

Bench.
20 x 20
10 x 60
5 x 80
3 x 100
2 x 110
1 x 115
1 x 120 Just about managed this but the left arm locked out a full 15 seconds before the right.
4.5 x 100 I can truly claim 4 1/2 presses as the left arm locked out the 5th press but the right stalled about 3" from lockout.
10 x 85
Not dissapointed with this session, my arms feel like they have had a good workout.

The Farm's lift of the month for Novemeber is the overhead squat which I find almost impossible, I did however manage it with the ladies 8Kg bar though. I'll try for l3Kg on Wednesday.

You'd have burnt more than that just sitting down/BMR. Nice OHS - you'll be looking at doing double what you started on, so you'd be Farm's lifter of the month Grin

You got any competitions lined up?

Upped the OHS to 45Kg last night which puts me in the lead at the moment Funky. The best ever OHS at the Farm was by Andy the Oly lifter from 2010 who managed 110Kg, a little out of my league!

I've set my target as the GBPF East Midlands Classic in early Feb at Letchworth.

Wednesday 7th Novemeber.

Started the session with an hour of physio and ultrasound treatment on the dodgy shoulder which felt warm and tired afterwards.

Just 7 of us on the weights, Sharn & Sean in trap 4, new bloke in trap 3, me in trap 2, Red Pete, Forklift & Stewart in trap 1. Weighed in at 113.35Kg.

Half Squats to bench.
10 x 20
5 x 70
5 x 110
3 x 140
3 x 160
3 x 180
1 x 200
5 x 160
Felt lazy so this was more about feeling the 200 on my back for the first time in ages.

Overhead Squats.
Lots x 8
Lots x 20
1 x 27.5
1 x 35
1 x 40
1 x 45
Starting to get the hang of these, it's all about balance whilst squatting, after hitting depth standing up is easy! I'm not the only one struggling though, 45 was the nights biggest lift (Sean & Stewart 40 with questionable depth and Forklift 37.5)

Bench.
20 x 20
10 x 60
8 x 80
5 x 3 x 100
8 x 80
A light session after the earlier physio.
