I think for this to be of interest to most people we would need to be told what we needed to monitor, what the optimum figures are and what to do about it if your results are less than ideal (together with the science to back it up). That's what I meant. Lol

It would then top up anything you were deficient in from a replaceable cartridge. I suspect this is completely impossible. Not impossible at all - just really expensive to develop. The future will be implantable monitoring devices (which do exist for specific uses) that can measure in more-or-less real time...and, has been mentioned, the difficulty is not so much the technology but coming to a consensus as to what the numbers actually mean.

no longer the Swiss Deadlift record holder Member 3517, 3368 posts SQ 182.5, BP 122.5, DL 255560.0 kgs @ 90kgs UnEq | What if instead of superinformed, high level, high maintenance athletes, your target audience was Joe Blow trying to lose a few pounds? A lot of people like to track stuff just for the sake of it and will follow whatever advice their device tells them. Will they really care about the exact science behind it? Just a thought.

I recommend the track - Slut Machine Member 6043, 955 posts SQ 350, BP 195, DL 350895.0 kgs @ 150kgs UnEq | As much as an incredible tool this would be can you imagine how potentially autistic it could make you, eating, sleeping, training, supplementing in such a way it keeps your blood at optimum levels. It would be a great tool perhaps in the run up to a competition but I think for day to day life naivety would be best!

#IStandByMillsy Member 4287, 2614 posts SQ 300, BP 310, DL 250860.0 kgs @ 120kgs Eq | Whilst an interesting idea this is a major undertaking - and you'll need to define what you want to measure before you even identify how you'll do the measurement and design the product? There are simple biosensor based devices for things like glucose, lactate, cholesterol already. The odd trans-dermal measurement e.g. the glucoWatch. The integration of the analytical device with a smartphone is the easy bit - the development of reliable measurement devices is difficult. The major biotech companies are getting there with better handheld diagnostics for Intensive Care / Treatment Units to measure gases, pH, haemoglobin etc but trying to add hormones into that is a huge challenge as they cannot, generally, be measured using the same methodologies. The cost of development and using Vs slight increase in convenience compared to using labs through a clinician will make this hugely challenging proposition. Apologies if this seems rude or blunt, but it's an area I have a fair bit of expertise

tight in the hole Member 2057, 3121 posts SQ 205, BP 140, DL 260605.0 kgs @ 95kgs UnEq | Lots of interesting responses here since I last had a look Basically the technology we have is able to take existing lab tests and adapt them for use in a simple disposable cartridge, that would be very simple to use and interpret. So we are looking at what kind of lab tests would be most benefical to do this, and to whom.
