A good few days in now, and feel so much 'better'... Certainly noticed better focus and drive, an increase in energy and work capacity, libido has increased and brain fog has reduced. I suspect, that my test levels are on the low side, but probably not low enough to satisfy the NHS requirements. At 55 muscle mass is significantly reduced and ever harder to maintain, strength is down, and over all drive to do anything meaningful in the gym is pretty non-existent. However, I don't suffer any of the other issues, low libido, low mood etc so doubt I would be able to argue a good case. All a bit s**t, when it appears there is a ready remedy out there that would improve my quality, and enjoyment, of life significantly! In short, I'd love a go with the gel just to see what difference it could make

In short, I'd love a go with the gel just to see what difference it could make I think you can cvertainly argue the case to get a blood test done by your Dr to get levels checked. They can't really refuse you a blood test to check hormones, especially if you have symptoms. Thats step 1 done at least, and the result will give you the evidence to hopefully help fight your cause. You may need to suggest you are having more side effects, and the negative impact they're having on you to get heard mind, but I would certinaly wish you good luck on getting treatment.

Wider issue with neglect regarding male specific problems in the UK. women are prescribed HRT on basis of symptoms alone, whereas men have to jump through hoops with repeated testing of test levels that must be consistently low by NHS definition of low (as in properly hypogonadal). stupid as so many other issues from mental health to insulin resistance that are improved with healthy test levels.

I met with my endo last week and they was happy with my progress and have agreed to keep me on TRT. They are going to move me over to inhections as the gel has been causing my hands to get very sore and irriate my delicate snowflake skin. They was to put me onto Nebio which is a long ester and only needs injecting every few weeks. While I do have concerns over the ester half life and peaks and troughs, I am at least on the right path to push on and change treatment with the NHS should it not be plain sailing. I have been using the gel daily for a few months, and it has been very helpful. I certainly noticed an improvement of all issues and my quality of life has improved as a result. This pleases me greatly. Now, the biggest game changer however has been something I introduced myself in the last couple of weeks. After plenty of research and going from my own issues, I added in 1 x 10mg tadalafil every day... Absolute level up game changer for me! I swear that it has in a way increased the power of my daily test gel and improved my overall wellbeing and godness tremendously! I did not tell my endo this, but I did ask about the chances of trying something like this as it was an issue for me still despite the test gel. They said they would revisit this request down the line if the nebido injections don't fix it. To sum up, things are good!

old age traveller Member 332, 7919 posts	My test is still too high for the NHS to give me something Too low for me to have much enthusiasm Testogel on the internet £100 for a month test in a bottle from a gym £35 for 2 months Downsides no chance of a TUE so no more IPF BUT my right arm doesn't fully extend anymore and I doubt I would get a start command anyway....
