End of an era. Member 4646, 1964 posts | Kieliszkowski or Janashia may not make the final here. Shiv shouldn't have been in their group....their performances would make them comfortable in the other groups. | ||

He's a quality athlete and if they can't beat him they don't deserve to be in the final (and i backed Shiv for a top 5 finish after he podiumed Arnolds) | ||

Before Caron's injury his was the hardest group to qualify from IMO. Both Caron and Licis should have been seeded and Z not. | ||

They were, but i dont agree that makes it unbalanced. The seeding is done to try and make sure as many top athletes make the final as possible, it is not done to try and balance things out. Due to the nature of the sport it doesn't need help to be balanced, the strongest man will make it to the final either way. I do agree some of the seeding seems off this year. Z appears to have been seeded based on his legacy rather than his strength, and even so he may still miss out on the final. Shiv is a great athlete, if he claims a spot in the final it is because he was stronger than the next man, so fair play to him. Sadly i actually think the stupid stones rule will prevent him making the final. With the tall platforms at WSM i dont see him winning a stone off with either athlete, so he'd need to win the group outright, and thats a huge ask in such a tough group. | ||

If you have 3 of the best 10 in a group together then it is unbalanced. I think you could argue that's the case for groups 1 and 5. I don't see it as a major issue. It's kind of inevitable. | ||
