Really good session today, which made up for yesterdays shocker. I also plan on squatting 170kg on monday for a new PB. So need to get my bloat on tonight and tomorrow!!

Was hoping for 170kg but everything was slow and s**te.

Good session I was hoping for 170kg on the squat but I am very sure it is there!

worked up to 205 x 2 PB - almost got a third.

Supposed to be overhead press but ditched it for lower assistance and bench.

Bench just decided to bench to get my tech right.
worked up to 110kg x 1. The weight flew up. Really happy with this, since this is my max in comp, so should be looking for a nice PB at the comp.

Lat Pulls
3 x 12 - setting 8

Machine rows, 4 x 12
45,55,65,75.

Face pulls 4 x 12.
band pull aparts 4 x 20.

Really good session and starting to look forward to the comp now especially since my benching and deadlifting have been good today and yesterday.

Looking for 175/115/210. However depending on how strong I feel next saturday I will go for more or less. Can't wait now since my training didnt feel like I was stronger but testing all the little things has gave me confidence!

Just done some light stuff to keep me ticking over until saturday
I also done various assistance work.

Finished off by foam rolling for 10 mins

Comp write up. Sub par performance I feel. i did manage to get some pbs but not as many as i wanted.

115 - F - Really really pissed by this, I feel plenty strong for this. bas***d.

207.5 - F Really annoyed by this aswell. Oh well s**t happens. In my video i am still pulling i just drop it. If i managed to make it it would have been a grinder. Another day. Oh well

According to the little sheet we got given out i set the new total and deadlift for my weight and age. However I plan on smashing this later on in the year.

Goals for summer.

Squat 185
Bench 120
Deadlift 220.

Need to start getting my head into it and training much harder. Oh well glad I got some PBS but pretty annoyed by my performance overall.

On a postive note there was great lifting all around and especially from Team Strathclyde! I will get videos up from the performance.

Double edit: Got a log PB lol. Whatever weight the palace of arts log is,

Well done Chris - remember you're still going up the learning curve. I am sure the 185 squat will be there soon. If you want to give sumo a bash for a few weeks to see how you get on I'm happy to give a few pointers - same on the bench (as I am now a bench-specialist - who would have thought that!!).

Cheers for the words Andy. Yeah I should be happy with Saturday I got PBs. Im sure more is there just wasn't on the day.

Great lifting the other day. I was the spotter with the green shirt on.
I've not gotten to read your log on here much until tonight and it's a great log. Your training methods look great. Also, well done on getting 2 PBs in comp you must have timed your peak just right. Good lifting!

Cheers wiegie. Yeah it was okay lifting I think. My squat was my only good lift everything else felt sub-par, oh well its just the way things go. I think I might go back to a westsidey sort of training method. I done it before my last comp and I felt it gave me much more than 5/3/1. I liked the idea of doing speed stuff with bands etc, I felt like it helped quite a fair bit. Oh well back to the drawing board and sort out my lifting for my next comp. Also cheers for the awesome loading :P

Yeah I could easily squat 1000lb in gear but I felt it would be a bit unfair being such an awesome lifter and people would be suspicious. So I have decided to pretend that I am s**t at raw for a bit before I go into equipment.

Chris - just uploaded new records onto scottishpowerlifting.com. Well done on setting two of them - hopefully the others will focus you on your next goals.

BTW - thanks for uploading vid of my lifting. I can't believe how easy the 147.5 bench looks. Last dead is a bit of a grinder but good to see kept form.
