Dumbell Bench 26,30,32(PB) - 12 reps Machine Row setting 14 x 8 setting 15 x 8 s15 + 5kg x 12 PB s15 + 10kg x 15 PB Latpull setting 9 x 8 " 10 x 8 " 11 x 8 Front Raise 8,10,12 kg x 15 reps Rope Tri PD 17.5, 24.5, 31.5 x 8 reps ME Lower Decided to test the water with sumo again since I havent pulled in a few weeks. 75 x lots 110 x 6 140 x 5 160 x 3 180 x 2 190 x f - pulled to mid shin 190 x 1 PB - Really having a good wiff of nose tork and shouting and swearing really works a treat! I have to get into the shouting, im a bit mellow when going into lifts sometimes. Pretty happy about this since ive not lifted sumo many times and im close to my s**ttily pulled 200. Sumo is definately for me. 45deg extensions 4 x 20 Side bends 26,30,32 x 15 Curls 18,20,22 x 8 each side. DE Bench Mini bands + 50kg 8 x 3 moving grip in from index to pinky Close Grip thumb width away from smooth 50 x 10 70 x 6 90 x 3 100 x 1 100 x 2 PB DB Bench 30kg x 12 32kg x 12 36kg 4 x 6 - PBs Front raise 10,12.5,15kg 15 reps. Machine Row Stack + 5 x 15 Stack + 10 x 15 Stack + 10 x 15 PB I have realised that I have to work on my upper back/lats and pressing off the chest hence the quite high volume of rowing and dumbell benching. Pretty happy with this weeks training so far. Lets hope it continues | ||

Friday 8/10/10 ME Bench 2 Board 80 x 10 100 x 6 110 x 2 115 x 1 110 x 3 x 3 Lat Pull Neutral Grip s10 x 8 s11 x 8 s12 x 8 Banded Tri ext 3 x 20 red,blue,green Saturday 9/10/10 DE squat 14" Box with double wrapped reds 70kg 10 x 2. One min rest Felt quite heavy at the top so used wrist wraps and belt. Rack Lock outs from 17" 120x3 150x3 170x3 190x2 Rope Pull throughs 28kg, 35kg, 38kg Monday 11/10/10 ME Lower Decided to test free squat for comp on the 31st to gauge where my first lift should be. Bar x lots 60 x 6 90 x 6 120 x 4 140 x 1 Belt on 150 x 1 - Stopped here as it felt quite easy and didn't want to take a true 1RM. Still felt like I had loads in the tank Good Mornings - First time trying these. 60 x 6 80 x 6 90 x 5 100 x 5 110 x 5 115 x 5 45deg extension. 4 x 12 Stiff Leg DL 3 x 12. 70,100,120kg Safe to say today my lower back has severe DOMS. Decent workouts. Also, from switching to the Westside Method from 5/3/1 I feel much stronger and actually like my lifts are going somewhere. | ||

My lifts have been feeling so much stronger since ive went back to it. DE Bench Banded Bench Double Wrapped Reds + 50kg 8x3 Dumbell Bench 35kg 1 x 12 38kg 2 x 6 40kg 2 x 6 Dumbell Row 3x12 - 50kg Lat Pulls DD Handle 3 x 15 lv 9,10,11 Banded Tri Extensions Red 1 x 20, Blue 1 x 20, Green 1 x 25. Good workout today. Had a bit of a tight left hip and got cramp when doing dumbell bench. So I think I need to work on hip stretching and abductor work. | ||

Hope to get a nice big PB at the upcoming comp. Only downside was I managed to rip my boxers in half. Sumo Speed Pulls 120kg 10 x 2 - Felt not too bad. Slow coming off the floor on my first sets. Once my hips warmed up they felt much easier. Side Bends 3 x 15 28,30,32 kg. Good session today. | ||

Floor Pressing 60 x 10 70 x 10 80 x 5 90 x 5 100 x 2 Shoulder work and some hip adductor machine. Decent workout. Really looking forward to comp. | ||

And haha no not yet. I will just justify it because everyone else is wearing one :P. However, having to wear Y-fronts under it aswell. Ballerina shoes to deadlift aswell. To someone not in the sport they would think it was a big gayfest. As for openers im going to see how I feel. Bench im not sure if i should go 100,105, 110. Squat. Really unsure about this, since I think i will have put at least 10kgs on since may. So i dont know if i should go 150,160,165/170. Deadlift 180,190,200. These will probably chance. But im happy with a 200kg on the dl especially since ive switched to sumo. | ||

First comp' I have ever done and it was great fun. It was the Scottish Juniors held at Venice in Bridgeton. It was a great atomosphere and everyone was totally supportive of one another. I was put into the 100kg weighing in at 92.6kg. I probably could have cut down below 90kg but there would have been no point since I just wanted to get the feel for a Meet. There was three people in my class, one of which who I train with ( Neil ) however, he was clearly going to beat me since he has been getting huge numbers. So it was mainly between me and the other guy. I managed to come second over all. My lifts went as follows Squat 145/155(PB)/165(PB) Bench 95/105/110(PB) Deadlift 180/190/200( Clean PB ) I ended up getting three whites for all my lifts which I was happy about. I felt that there could have been more in most of my lifts but just getting a meet under my belt and getting the feeling for one was the most important aspect of the day. So all in all it was a great experience and I want to thank Allen (SuperSteel101) for coaching me and Neil today. Also, well done to Neil for getting some awesome PB's. I will upload the videos of me and Neil's performance later on when they finally upload to youtube ( its taking a bloody age! ) Chris! - Away to rest and eat as it feels like a train has ran over me! Next stop 500kg total!! | ||
