Still got a little bit of strength Member 400, 22989 posts | This info cropped up over the past few days.... btw - check this out - 600lb carryover from suits/wraps FTW This guy apparently only has a raw bench around 200kg but benches 400kg+ in a single ply shirt! Extreme examples, but it confirms to me that equipped numbers can be a very poor indicator of an individual's strength.

I'm not so sure! depends what you class as 'strength'

not particularly well educated Member 85, 11010 posts SQ 170, BP 130, DL 260560.0 kgs @ 90kgs UnEq | powerlifting and strongman are both great fun, it just a shame you have to dress like an extra from a bondage porn film to enjoy partaking in a bit of powerlifting.

Member 1227, 152 posts | Strongman is a stronger all round sport, powerlifitng is just 3 lifts. So in my opinion strongmans better

I am a bench-only guy Member 3, 10068 posts SQ 185, BP 175, DL 235595.0 kgs @ 140kgs UnEq Administrator | That's like arguing that strongman's s**t because some events favour really tall people, or some prioritise running fast over strength, or... It's also worth noting that the people who get huge amounts out of kit are ones who've trained to minimise their weaknesses *in kit*, rather than their raw weakness. Doesn't mean they're not strong as f**k, and anybody who doubts it is welcome to come over, try on a shirt, and get stapled. It's like saying a pole-vaulter's s**t because he's not as good at the high jump as a high-jumper. This thread's going nowhere, I suspect. Play nice, people, or it'll get locked real soon.
