As we are discussing diet and lifestyle and mine has come up as pretty s**t, I've been to the doctors today about something and after some open and frank conversation I've had / am having quite a lot of tests done. So far I've had BP, ECG, BMIRoll-Eyes, Pulse rate, peak flow and a chest x-ray. I'm having bloods done next week too, although I don't know yet specifically what for.

I'm not suggesting these tests will be exhaustive but hopefully it will give me a reasonable overview of where I'm at health wise in light of my self abuse.

Think I've been pretty lucky to find such a sympathetic GP and Practitioner nurse.

Any man over the age of 40 Wink can go to their GP and request a "well man" test...which is more or less a full bloods MOT

I'd imagine the blood tests will be a liver function test mate, maybe thyroid function test also.

Out of interest, how have the results been for the tests you've already had, all in the normal range?

Simon, everything so far came back ok. I was quite surprised at the BP ( can't remember figures) as I go a canny shade of purple at times.

If everything comes back ok does that mean you continue with the 8-10 cans of Stella a night regime?

EDIT: good to know everything is ok so far though. Happy

Why would you go and ask a question like that?! Erm ,I'd love to say no but I can't help thinking it would make it easier for me to keep my head in the sand. Lets see...

Seems like your docs no met many competitive lifters and is being a bit cautious.
They're all cheap tests but the chest x ray seems unnecessary
