Decided to have a break from being a remarkably weak strongman and going to be a fat, body obsessed narcissist for a bit. The risk of being all 'muscletalk' I could just do with guidance regarding training to lose the belly.

Nutrition wise I'm thinking 2200 cals a day, 250-260 proteins, &rt;100 carbs and the rest fats. I'm 6'4", 120kg and probably mid to high teens bf.

Normally train every other day, splitting it between pressing, pulling and squats. I'm thinking of adopting a more all over body routine on training days as opposed to previous splits. Obviously much less weight will be lifted, but would this principle lead to more weight shifted from the midriff?

Any advice on battling the bulge appreciated!

Good job mate.

Calories are a good starting point for a chap your size...you may need to adjust them a little as you go.

Sadly site specific fat loss is not something training has any effect on. Eat healthy, train smart and let your body take care of where the fat loss happens...gut will be the last place it shifts from.

Sleep helps with your fat loss goals too.

Consistency is key when it comes to seeing that six pack...good luck mate

I did better last time I significantly reduced my BW by keeping the training the same and intensity high, but lowering the volume quite a lot. doing full body routines with loads of reps and light weights is going to be hard on already glycogen depleted muscles.

You dont need that much protein. I would say lower it to about 200g and increase carbs and fat. Also at 120kg bodyweight going straight to 2200kcal is too low. I would recommend that you start at say 3000 or so and keep it there for a week or 2 and adjust accordingly depending upon what your bodyweight does. From then on lower it every 1 to 2 weeks by increments of 100 to 200kcal.

Once you have reached your desired level of aesthetics, reverse the process by increasing kcal by 100 to 200 ever 1 to 2 weeks.

If you follow this advice I could pretty much guarantee you will get where you want. I cannot promise you wont get an eating disorder though. loal

aesthetics level = (lithuanian vadge quality x number banged per week) / number of visible abs

Thanks chaps, I've been at it since the start of week with the target of 2550 cals a week, aiming for around 100g carbs, and around 250g protein and the rest fats. It's been pretty straightforward so far (but its only a couple of days!).
I've been fasting from about 9/10pm until 12 the following day and that seems help cut calories too.

Will be chucking in a cheat meal (probably multiple dominos pizza's) once a week to alleviate the boredom!

A cheat meal might f**k you right up if you go overboard. Say you have 3000 calories of s**t. that turns a daily 500 calorific deficit into a 50 calorie deficit

I think I will refrain from weighing myself more than once a week, need to find a decent set of scales that do BF. Had a set of tanita scales but they broke after about two weeks

I probably will just indulge in about 1000-1500 calories in the cheat meal, would probably struggle to do 3k in a single sitting anyway!

Body fat is a weird one when electric scales are used...they are very finicky with temperature and hydration, often resulting in numbers varying 2 to 3% which is balls for monitoring progress...best I can offer is keep the time of day and temperature as standardised as possible to try and eliminate variations.

Eek

Those things are not that accurate - but what are you weighing now?

I've slimmed down to about 92kg and my abs are on the verge of visibility.
