I know we've had similar threads in the past but hey ho.
I'm thinking of setting up in my garage. Just looking at prices at the moment.
Anyone any experience of this rack/bench or company?

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/POWER-RACK-WEIGHT-BENCH-PACKAGE-FLAT...

Any other advice on setting up in a garage cheaply? I need a bar, weights and somewhere to squat/press/bench and deadlift. For the latter I'm thinking the floor should do the trick, maybe with some mats of course.
Thanks Cool

Get a multi press rack/power cage to squat and press out of
Adjustable bench- flat/incline/high for shoulders etc
Plates will be the most expensive thing. I think i started off with a bar and plates bundle, bar is still going strong. You can upgrade the bar at a later date.
3-4 mats worked out cheaper than getting rubber flooring

also got two generic bars (s**t) and iron plates. buy the best bar you can afford, the two cheap ones I have are bent and the sleeves fell off one.

You can pick up some bargains on ebay. Keep an eye out for someone that's bought everything you need and selling due to moving house, that seems to happen a lot.

Cheers lads. Nice rack you have there Rico, but the rack/bench in my link is £295 for both and is rated to 250kg which is more than I'll ever squat. I need to keep the size down as garage isn't very big either.

Why you selling Pagan, getting in a gym more instead?
If you do decide to sell up let me know, might be worth the trip, although I may change my mind about all of this in a few weeks, who knows.lol The reason I'm thinking about it is cos I now have 2 jobs which is gonna leave less free time, and I'm unwilling to spend more time out away from the family if I can train at home instead.

If you are interested in a rack/dip combo squat stands, with a pair of secondary J-hooks (I think for bench) then Wolverine Fitness have a set for around £100 including delivery. Although they do not have safety spotters. Rated to 300kg.

Moving house mate and I wont have a big f**k off double garage at the new gaff.

I have power rack, bench, bar ( slightly bent but a Pendlay one) 120k in weight ( sold loads off already)two mats , fat dumbell handle, axle and log.

I'm not sure how much if any of it I really want to sell as I could put it outside at the new place but I can see most of it going purely for financial reasons.

It was the cheapest I could find with a decent rating + features (and including VAT + delivery). I haven't bought anything from them so I have no idea what their customer service is like. Bear in mind I've heard you can phone places like powerhouse fitness etc up and negotiate a decent chunk off their listed prices.
