I figure if I plan 3 conditioning sessions per week, I should at least get one in Grin . No, 3 is the plan and that is what I'll be trying to do with Wiggy the MMA cardio freak. Fitness should be one of my strengths over other strongmen, not a weakness, so I'm going to make sure that this year it becomes one - cardio machine! Well maybe not, but we'll see...

Whats the plan conditioning wise?

Have you managed to source a big tyre yet? I was watching a strongman show on eurosport the other day and Mariusz was talking about doing tyre flips twice a day! Eek

Everything!

Basically lots of stuff from rosstraining.com like running, skipping, tabatas, BW circuits, bag work, stuff from Sean Sherk's youtube training video, light SM stuff, the lot!

I'm defo after a couple of tyres, one in the 400kg range for proper training, and one a bit lighter for conditioning stuff.

c'moon milsy, i know you want to say it Grin Olly: Mark F promised one of his 400kg ish tyres to him Cool

Yeah mate, definitely keep up that cardio fitness, it has so many benefits anyway: recovery, injury prevention, general health and most importantly looking good at the beach.

Plenty of DOMS from yesterday, lovely.

SUGDEN CENTRE

10 mins of skipping

lat pulldowns: 4 sets

2 sets of woodchoppers

overhead squats: 10x 20kg, 10x30kg

gunz: 4 different sets

cross trainer: 33 minutes keeping speed over 10 and heart rate around 150

Position at least fist width away from the bar, take grip, push knees over the bar and out, dont squat down, drive with the legs

Your gona have to thank Alan for me. I was ruminating on this advice before today's session and low and behold got some leg drive back!

glad it helped mate! Grin Alan is The Man...

Today was supposed to be a strongman session at The Dungeon, but as i walked to my car, it was blocked by one of these:

http://www.egmcartech.com/wp-content/uploads/2006/10/2007_limi...

I tried to push it, yank it, lift it, kicked it, but no luck. Knocked on all doors in our building, no one knows whose it was. Got very angry, and i dont get angry that often...

Anyway, long story short, gutted i missed the dungeon session (in retrospect: train -> bolton, taxi from there, would have been a doable though expensive option) i went to Sugden gym for some punishment work.

Squats
6x60
5x100
3x140
2x160
1x170
1x170
1x170
1x170
1x170

ages since i have done proper raw squat session, got better as i went along, confident i will be at 200+ within two months without hurting my deadlift work.

Push jerks
5x50
5x70
5x80
3x90
10x70

Good mornings
8x60
8x100
6x140
5x160

Again, ages since i have done these, felt f**ked afterwards

Shrugs
10x100
10x140
10x190
15x220

Ab pulldowns
6x56
6x63
4x70

3 sets of gunz

I'd have been very angry too. VEEEEERRRRRYYYYY ANGRYAngry Angry Angry

Jonny said that you'd tried to lift the bas***d and I said at the time, "Imagine if the four of us(Me, you, Jonny and Jason) had ALL been there and we could have lifted it out of the way." That would have been hilarious but it wasn't to be.

Anyway, great sesh at Sudgen mate.Happy
